You know, I was thinking that HOPEFULLY with the renewed interest in the girls and the Spiceworld25 celebrations, it might give the singles from that album their due!!

Spice Up Your Life and Viva Forever in particular should be as iconic as Wannabe, if there was any justice in this world. Stop and Too Much are also some of their best singles.

If it were me, Spiceworld25 celebrations would include:

ALBUM

1 x Standard picture vinyl

1 x Spiceworld vinyl (like, the vinyl itself is in the shape of a world with the Spice ring to it!)

1 x Spiceworld Remixes vinyl

1 x Re-print of Standard Spiceworld CD

1 x Special Spiceworld 2x CD with unreleased songs/demos

SINGLES

1 x Spice Up Your Life Special limited edition CD (3000 copies, inc all released mixes and Spice Invaders, plus the song's demo)

1 x Too Much Special limited edition CD (3000 copies, inc all released mixes and b-sides and demo)

1 x Stop Special edition CD (3000 copies, inc all released mixes & original demo)

1 x Viva Forever edition CD (3000 copies, fairies on the cover, inc Return of the Spice Girls Tour live version)

Wouldnt that be amazing??? It would also bring much needed focus to the singles, which would be deserving!!

SUYL has moved up to No.3 on SG’s Most Popular tracks on Spotify putting 2B1 down to 4

Great to see it climbing as its the best song for me, id be happy to see it climb further which likely wont happen.

Mama has reached 25m streams on Spotify.

SUYL and SYBT will both get to 100m this year so happy they'll be hitting some more milestones on Spotify this year.

Random: Spice Up Your Life is #155 in this week’s UK Radio Airplay chart. This is its 18th week in the chart. Sadly it’s not been a particularly big presence on radio since its release, given that 13 of those weeks are from when it was in the Top 100 back in 1997.

The radio stations that played it must have had a big audience because it was only given 52 spins last week - the songs surrounding it in that area of the chart were played hundreds of times (a Calvin Harris song at #156 was played 761 times!).

Incredible that a song as successful as Spice Up Your Life didnt get many weeks in the radio charts! Really shows how they were really being cancelled by the industry by the time Spiceworld was released!!

Tbf radio and the charts were so fast moving in the mid to late 90s, cd singles only stocked for 3 months and out the charts then. So radio isn't going to keep playing a song you cant buy now and is out the charts.

It is so stale now.

SYBT has knocked 2B1 down to No.5 and SYBT is now No.4 on the SG’s most popular tracks on Spotify

JUSTICE :teresa:

Any chance they'll make a surprise performance tomorrow and get a boost?...
Nope not at all. I have to say the event is not as big as I expected tbh so they were probably better to hold out for Glastonbury if that is a possibility.

To be fair, if they appeared on stage social media would go mad and then hopefully it would give them a boost on Spotify,

YouTube etc but Glastonbury or another tour would be better as we’d get a longer performance

Really hope not. They are already so linked to the royal family, and the royal family is toxic as hell. A colonial power, pedophiles, insane wealth in a country with 14million people in poverty, racists has hell....

It is so much better that they as a group are not involved and have not been involved since the 90s. Thank f***! I know some of them were keen on doing it, but I am glad they didnt.

'Who Do You Think You Are' was #113 in the UK Radio Airplay chart on 17th June! This was its 26th week in the Top 200. 394 plays.

'Wannabe' also returns, at #181. This is also its 26th week in the Top 200, and it achieved 174 plays.

It's curious to see these songs back in the radio chart now, considering they've barely been in the radio charts since their years of release. Wannabe spent 17 weeks in the Top 100 during 1996 and 1997, while Who Do You Think You Are managed 20 weeks in the Top 100 in 1997.

You'd think that these songs would have picked up way more plays on radio over the years, particularly Wannabe considering how much of a classic it is.

'Wannabe' was #95 in the UK TV Airplay chart on 20th May, it was aired 27 times that week.

'Wannabe' in the Official Vinyl Singles Chart Top 40 chart (since it was released on 12" picture disc vinyl & cassette last year). Most recently in the chart on 10th June.

Thanks Jay nice to see the old hits are picking up more airplay these days. Also interesting to think Wannabe is charting on 4 different charts in the last few weeks with radio and tv airplay, vinyl and physical sales. Would love an updated figure of Wannabe's sales.

Spice up your life is number 53 on itunes here in Ireland, sales wise ut probably means about 5 sales but good to see it doing something.
