The GH has risen again on Apple music to #103 for yesterdays album streaming chart. It is the 2nd day it has risen.

So far 112 and 103 for Fri and Sat of this charting week.

This is still holding up amazingly well on itunes #24 right now. Its a shame Victoria denying the tour rumour has sucked all my excitement out of whatever is happening now.

The GH rises on Apple music again 3rd day in a row, it is back in the top 100 at #94.

Chart run for this charting week so far - 112 (fri), 103 (sat), 94 (sun).

It is #27 on itunes and #170 on Amazon. Looking like it will comfortably make the top 200 again this week.

The last sales update for 2 become 1 was 19th Sept 2017 when its total was 1,181,653.

Its streams on Spotify on Oct 6th were 19, 792,139, as of today they stand at 23,904,408.

It has increased over 4m plays in those 4 months. It must be so so close to double platinum. Hopefully any week now the BPI certifies it double plat.

Don't forget that those are global streams.

Don't forget that those are global streams.

That I know but that is just Spotify, there is Apple music, Deezer, Tidal etc too. So 4.1m just from Spotify, the UK will surely be the biggest consumer of those streams.

What we do know for sure is that it hasn't yet achieved 1,834,700 streams across all the UK streaming platforms since 19th September! 146 days have passed since then.

If 2 Become 1 was certified double platinum for 1.2m sales tomorrow (and this isn't taking into account the unknown small amount of download trickle sales it's achieved in this time), it'd work out as being an average of 12,556 streams per day, or 87,965 in a week. So it must be getting streamed less than these figures each day/week.

I hope it's close to getting 2xPlatinum anyway, it's long overdue!

I'm more interested in seeing Say you'll be there passing the million sales mark (and Spice up your life if poss) than 2 become 1 getting double platinum tbh.

A million has kind of lost its wow factor for me since streaming came into play. There's a likelihood Say You'll Be There has crossed over already and OCC hasn't even reported it, because it's not really a special event any more. :( It'd be great to get confirmation that it has done it, of course, but these days a "millionaire" (as the OCC now calls it) can be achieved by songs that don't even achieve a Top 5 peak in the charts.

2 Become 1 getting 2xPlatinum will be good to know because then we'll know for certain it's sold 1,200,000. Also it'll be nice for them to add another certification to their name! I think it deserves the status of being a multi-platinum hit.

As things stand:

2xPlatinum - Wannabe

Platinum - 2 Become 1

Platinum - Say You'll Be There

Platinum - Spice Up Your Life

Platinum - Goodbye

Platinum - Mama / Who Do You Think You Are

Platinum - Viva Forever

Platinum - Too Much

Gold - Stop

Silver - Holler / Let Love Lead The Way

Rust - Headlines (Friendship Never Ends)

Wannabe's streaming is so strong that it shouldn't be too many years until it achieves 3xPlatinum (1,800,000). As of September 2017 it had achieved 160,276 sales via streaming, i.e. 16,027,600 streams since January 2014.

Wannabe's total sales (physicals + downloads + streaming) in September 2017 was 1,545,488. So that's 254,512 sales to go until 1.8m. In terms of streaming, it'd need 25,451,200 more streams (although that's not taking into account the fact it'll achieve some download sales too). Streaming is bigger than ever before now, so it'll presumably achieve 25m streams in the UK a lot more quickly than it achieved 16m.

When it comes to Spotify's global streams for Wannabe, it was on 178,691,047 on 6th October 2017, it's now on 208,788,834, so just over 30m worldwide over the last 4 months. It'd be interesting to know how many of those were in the UK. There'll be lots of streams coming from Apple Music too.

If this forthcoming Spice reunion is worthwhile, I can only see Wannabe's streaming getting stronger still. So I'll make a prediction that Wannabe will earn its 3xPlatinum certification before 2020. We shall see!

How long until Holler gets gold?

Shame it isn't platinum

Holler was at 260k sold in May 2015 so it'll be a long while...

its a shame there aren't more physical copies. TSOGA for example and the TT greatest hits always benefited from Woolworths closing in the former case but also just being in the supermarkets. SG-GH has not been stoked since 2008 and I always have thought a vinyl and more CDs in distribution would have allowed stronger trickle sales.
The GH got restocked at supermarkets in 2012. Will be interesting if that happens again this year.
I don't get why the GH isn't stocked in supermarkets all the time to allow for trickle sales. Abba Gold, The Immaculate Collection, Queens GH and The Beatles 1 are constantly selling thanks to this it would help the girls tremendously. It shows just how well the girls have sold on downloads over the years the fact it is not very well stocked and then that it isn't on the major streaming site spotify either.
I noticed Bananaramas first greatest hits got pretty well restocked after their recent reunion so it wouldn't surprise me to see the same if the girls actually tour or put on shows.
