She either gonna get a quick top 10 that drops fast after a few weeks or flop so bad it will be laughable

Is she collaborating with Clean Bandit
I agree with those saying it'll do a Your Song at best, it'd be tough for her to beat that unless she comes back with a New Rules-esque anthem with a great video that catches on so easily. I Don't Care was a streaming top 10 I believe (although it wasn't quite so difficult in 2014 I guess), so hopefully she wouldn't struggle too much with the right material.

2014 and 2017 are like chalk and cheese in terms of the chart. Popular music styles have completely changed and we've seen a huge shift in consumption. It'll be much harder for artists like Cheryl to score number 1s now, unless it's something really critically acclaimed and lets be honest, she hasn't got the talent to pull that off - although she has got the pretty face.

I hope it's something decent, there are a few Cheryl singles I do quite like or even really like - but "I Don't Care" was just so dire!

A Girls Aloud comeback would likely have more short-term success than her dwindling solo career does in my opinion.

Absolutely this.

What happened with her last era? Canet remember et.

She will flop.

Her last album struggled massively even with two number ones. I can't see streaming working in her favour as her singles worked mostly on pre-release buzz and we don't really get that anymore because of streaming.
Is there even a confirmed release date or is this whole thread based on speculation?

What is taking her so long? She really isn't the type of artist that should be taking 4 year gaps.

Cheryl like the other members would be better to focus on a Girls Aloud reunion, they would achieve some success with a single, likely a relatively decent selling album and strong tour interest.

Cheryl struggled massively with her last album which had 2 number 1's that at the time was largely due to the huge X Factor exposure she had. With this no longer to her advantage, streaming likely against her she will struggle this time around.

That would be really cool, I dunno if I can see it happening though.

The long Cheryl leaves it (solo) the harder it will be as the streaming influence increases.

Although Little Mix have had streaming hits so maybe...

I can’t see Cheryl Cole doing that well when she returns. It’s been too long gap and there are far better artists out there who have filled her gap.

It just depends on that first song, personally I think she needs a big feature to come back strong, it could definitely help her transition into the Spotify era.

I do think she is a big enough name and had enough success for her still to get instant radio support from all major stations. I also imagine she'd probably get good spots on the main Spotify playlists, at least for the first single, after that depends on how that first song does.

I think she actually might have retired now. She had a good solo AND band run tbh. Why would she come back now and tarnish it? Surely she knows Jess Gylne etc have taken her spot. I doubt she cares.

She has been recording music since before her pregnancy, actually revealed in an interview in Cannes she was going back to the UK to shoot a new music video but then she obviously fell pregnant and all plans changed.

But yeah she has been in the studio a lot recently and is definitely coming back with new music, rumoured for later this year.

I don't care was one of my guilty pleasures, but yes it is largely forgotten, and that was a lucky No.1, I remember it dropping on iTunes after a few days, I think ed Sheehan 'thinking out loud' overtook it. I suppose she made chart history though, which still surprised me. After 'Crazy stupid love' hit No.1 she tied Rita ora/Geri there was speculation whether she could top it.
