GIRLS ALOUD are making a bid for Christmas No1 with an Eighties cover.

I know there is still months to go but the music industry is already gearing up for the big festive countdown.

The ladies — CHERYL COLE, KIMBERLEY WALSH, SARAH HARDING, NADINE COYLE and NICOLA ROBERTS — have recorded a version of I Think We’re Alone Now, a hit in 1988 for American teen sensation TIFFANY,.

The Californian resurfaced in reality TV show Hit Me Baby One More Time last year.

The girls have already got one Christmas No1 under their elaborately decorated belts.

They went to the top in 2002 with debut single Sound Of The Underground.

 Wicked!! Think this will be a BIG hit for them. Won't be Xmas number one though :( That'll be X Factor

Not another cover version. Why can't they release something original at christmas for a change?

I partly agree, its a shame for their 4th Christmas release (Jump, I'll Stand By You, See The Day and now I Think We're Alone Now) be a cover, but i'm sure they will put their usual excellent take on it.

It won't be number 1 though....

:puke2: they could at least do a cover of a xmas song for a change

Oh dear :(

I'd rather have GA #1 than X Factor though.

all this talk of Xmas  *shudder*

I think this is great! They'll pull off a great cover version of Tiffany's hit imo!

Oh my God lol-will this be on their best of?

To answer my own question...yes it is on their best of...

I just remembered that I have a dance cover of this on single from 2002 by Pascal feat Karen Parry...it reached about No.21 I think on the chart

it will sound good, but if a class tune like see the day gets to no.9 then i rest my case. i saw tiffanny i think were alone now on t.v y.day.
Oh no, this means they're going to do another rush release like last year and forget all about a bloody good song for a limp cover of a ballad

'I Think We're Alone Now' isn't a ballad.

But, I hope Girls Aloud don't turn it into one.
