question about Poison, according to wiki it was written by Kate Nash & Julia Michaels

sounds like a weird collaboration

anyone can confirm

never heard that kate nash had written anything for any other artist

Yes :)

I don't think 'Lay Down Your Weapons' is that bad, but wow it sounds so dated now. It happened because K Koke had been signed to Roc Nation (where Rita Ora was too) and this was the attempt to break him in the UK. The single he released before (Turn Back with Maverick Sabre) was ten times better than this, and he was dropped soon after. I think the problem was K Koke literally only rapped about one subject - his hard upbringing and had no real pop sensibilities. He needed to release a lighter-hearted track before trying something like this.

Not surprised to see it last, but probably shouldn't be (not when Poison is here).

Ah, I didn't realise that K Koke was on the same label as her! No loss anyway.

The top ten will continue (and hopefully finish) tomorrow! Here are the remaining songs:

"Anywhere"

"Black Widow" (with Iggy Azalea)

"Doing It" (with Charli XCX)

"Hot Right Now" (with DJ Fresh)

"I Will Never Let You Down"

"Lonely Together" (with Avicii)

"R.I.P." (ft. Tinie Tempah)

"Your Song"

Continue to predict what will win and what will be next! :cheer:

Echoing all of the "Body On Me is way too low" comments :( Listened to it for the first time in quite a while the other day and it still sounds so good!

"I Will Never Let You Down" is clearly winning and rightfully so  I assume "Anywhere" will be runner-up!

hoping for black widow to win

8. "Lonely Together" (with Avicii) - 7.8934 (Max: 11 - danG; 10 - Josh!, George.keh, Chapman, cqmerqn, Liam, JosephStyles, THEO., burbe, BridgeCow, Calum, Cody, ElectroBoy, kye / Min: -1 - Davidson; 2 - Buttered Muffin)

UK chart peak: #4

In eighth place is one of Rita's three top ten singles from this year and the first of the three to drop out. "Lonely Together" is a collaboration with Swedish DJ Avicii and features distorted vocals from Rita. It took a long time for me to get used to her voice on this but there's a beautiful acoustic version that she's recorded and you can stream it on Spotify if you still can't get used to her vocals on the official version. The chorus is incredibly uplifting and anthemic and she really goes for it when she's performed it live. Currently, I'd place it in my top three of hers ever and I hope it goes on to become a classic. It became a top ten hit for the pair in September and has since spent eight weeks there, including three at its #4 peak while it peaked one place higher at #3 in Avicii's native Sweden.

7. "R.I.P." (ft. Tinie Tempah) - 7.9672 (Max: 11 - spapedVop, HarryEzra / Min: 1 - Tawdry Hepburn; 3 - blacksquare)

UK chart peak: #1

Another #1 single drops out here, this time Rita's debut single as a lead artist featuring the biggest UK rapper at the time, Tinie Tempah. It is very heavily influenced by the drum'n'bass and dubstep sounds that were popular at the time, similar to her single that preceded this, "Hot Right Now", her first feature single. The song was written by Drake although it was originally intended for Rihanna and it heavily interpolates the song "Heartbeat" (specifically the Chase & Status remix) by Nneka - if you haven't heard this song, do it now, you won't regret it. As a song, I think it is a very powerful statement to put out as her first single but it works incredibly well and her vocal chemistry with Tinie really shines through. It's definitely something that some of today's up and coming artists should take of, especially the sample (hi Raye), taking a song that wasn't a huge hit when it was originally released and ramping it up even more. I thought it would be a lot more divisive here but it only received five scores below a 5. The song went straight to #1 in the UK, spending two weeks there, still her longest reign at the top of the chart - will "Anywhere" go on to beat that (if it becomes #1)?

R.I.P. is fab but hasn't aged too well for me. Lonely Together is fantastic though, absolutely love it  the pitched vocals make no difference to me whatsoever either!
R.I.P is still great! I'm still really loving Lonely Together too but I wouldn't say it will go down as a Rita classic.
