Finders Keepers is a sensual jam that I didn't think much of initially but slowly grew on me once it started to become a surprise UK hit where it eventually spent 5 weeks in the top 10. A good starting point for her I'd say, hopefully she can follow this up well.

I'm still not sure what language this is sung in but she's got a lovely voice and I love the Filatov & Karas esque eurodancey production courtesy of the remixers DJ Dark and MD.DJ.

Despite that, The Pogues have actually peaked at #3 in my chart, back in 2013, but #4 is their highest position since. Nothing more I need to say about this song as you all know it as the ultimate Christmas classic. It is in fact the only song to have entered my chart in every year since the chart's conception in 2010, well except for this year so far but it will obviously make another return.

It's a great 80s inspired synth-pop track which I'd recommend if you're into the '80s remixes' of popular songs that seem to be floating around the internet a lot.

It could definitely be a contender for this year's number one too as it will no doubt get quite a few spins once December starts.

Never properly listened to Slippery actually oops as it didn't get any sort of UK push. Really love MotorSport at the moment though, but due to its recentness it missed the cutoff for this year's list. 'Bad And Boujee' will appear later on of course anyway.

This one has quite a few catchy hooks but at the same time it's not very singable.

I have enjoyed the recent dominance of UK rap recently, this is one of the good songs to come out of that trend - would've been nice to see it make the UK top 40 but it never quite got there.

Dye My Hair is my favourite ALMA single, I think! A bit gutted it never grew into a hit but at least she got her moment with "Chasing Highs"... I hope she hasn't ruined the momentum with "Phases" which is definitely the weak link of them all for me.

 

Loving the Calvin Harris album tracks in this section too, his album didn't have one dud on it for me :wub: "Skrt On Me" will go down as a big missed single opportunity though in my opinion :cry:

I really love Rick & Morty, if it keeps up its quality it may well overtake South Park as my fave animated program ever.

I watched Gravity Falls last year and enjoyed that, you probably know there's a fan theory that the two shows are connected and there was a little Easter egg in one R&M episode, would be intrigued to see if anything else happens with that but I expect a crossover episode is unlikely to happen.

Not really fussed on The Simpsons from what I've seen from it, haven't bothered with it as other animated sitcoms like Family Guy and South Park are funnier imo.

Haven't seen any of Regular Show or Amazing World Of Gumball, I'll read up on those to see if there's any chance I'll like them (and I do need something to watch in the new year when the current South Park season ends and I imagine there'll be another long wait for the next R&M series).

Stranger Things is brilliant, I'd deffo recommend especially as you like Gravity Falls, they're quite similar except Stranger Things is more mature and character driven.

Rogue One was 2016 but released in December so counts as 2017 for the purposes of this thread. The Force Awakens likewise was my favourite of 2016 but released in December 2015.

I didn't see Baby Driver, wasn't fussed it didn't really appeal to me.

I'm not familiar with FM-84 past 'Running In The Night' and 'Arcade Summer' but both songs are great, I like the 80s dance style to it.

Didn't bother with the Joe Goddard album as 'Lose Your Love' was the only single to stand out for me.

Wasn't aware of the Hurts song until a few years later actually, passed me by as sadly it wasn't a hit.

I wouldn't say Signs is tropical house or tropical anything for that matter.

Dye My Hair is my favourite ALMA single, I think! A bit gutted it never grew into a hit but at least she got her moment with "Chasing Highs"... I hope she hasn't ruined the momentum with "Phases" which is definitely the weak link of them all for me.

 

Loving the Calvin Harris album tracks in this section too, his album didn't have one dud on it for me :wub: "Skrt On Me" will go down as a big missed single opportunity though in my opinion :cry:

Well I agree about 'Phases', I tried getting into that but it really is quite weak, no wonder it didn't take off for her. Plus the French rap ruins the flow. Only made it to about #59 in my chart. I'd say Bonfire > Chasing Highs > All Stars > Karma > Don't You Feel It > Dye My Hair > Phases. And the ones I rank above DMH are all yet to come, she's had quite a year.

 

Glad you enjoyed the Calvin album too, hope to see his album high in your album chart. All the songs on it are great, says a lot that 9/10 of them made my top 250. And save your Skrt On Me love for later on in the countdown :wub:
