I just watched the video again*, and Mel didn't say anything really specific? All she confirmed is that a meeting happened - but she gave away nothing about how the meeting went, or any details about what might be happening! Which is pretty restrained by Mel's usual standards, to be fair.

I would think Victoria will only be involved in the movie and not concerts.

I really cannot see Victoria being involved in any performances so I think people need to let go of that hope... She has gone on about her 'stage anxiety' so much since the Olympics I truly cannot see her going back on stage no matter how big of a deal it is.

Yeah, she almost didn’t do the Olympics, you can see Mel B look over to make sure she got out of her cab! If she didn’t do the last tour filled with Spice fans then no way would she put herself through Glastonbury when lots of people in the crowd would not even be Spice fans!

Not surprised VB is scared of performing after the savaging from the ridiculous OTT hateful rightwing gutter UK press. They riled up so much hate that durin a Hollier performance they had to amp up security due to DEATH THREATS! And there was a laser on her head in rehearsals! I don't blame VB. I blame the hateful jealous press.

They should release a Calvin Harris remix of WOMAN. He did promise them one after all. Then release a Calvin remix of them covering For Once In My Life. They could even release a song eith Jess Glynne.

I think we can kiss goodbye any new music or live concert reunion with Victoria, including Glastonbury. And I've come to accept it, as it is her choice and all 5 girls seem very happy with where the group is and their role within it (or outside of it).

 

Good for her and glad she is so happy doing her work that she would rather not distract herself from it.

In light of this article, I'd be interested to know what you guys think would be achievable (even if not necessarily probable) in the near future.

 

Personally, I'd love to see:

• A series of Christmas ads (for Supermarket/Department Store/Confectionary brand - no more crisps)

• Christmas 'An Audience With' TV special.

• A new Christmas cover version as part of the above – something in the vein of Lily Allen's 'Somewhere Only We Know'

 

What would anyone else like to see from them?

Who knows, as a 4 piece you feel that anything could happen. I really think they need to take the tour to other parts of the world and obviously some new music would be great.

That would be the dream. I still don't dare hope that they'll actually write and record original, new material. If that happens, they'll actually surpass the 2007 reunion in my eyes.

 

I think 'Anymore' and 'Baby Please Don't Stop' show there's still enough spark for decent Spice Girls single.

New music is my ultimate wish! I have faith they could still create some magic together if they were truly focused on it.

 

Love the idea of "An Audience with" style show, and Glastonbury. Two opportunities for us to have performances professionally recorded, which the most recent two tours fell short on.

 

I would certainly appreciate them finally touring countries outside of Europe & North America. Particularly in Australia because I feel like they've been messed around more than any other country oops (mainly Mel B's fault).

 

I also like the idea of them doing more sponsorships / advertisements. The Tesco adverts were honestly one of my favourite aspects to the 2007 reunion!

 

Essentially that's me reiterating everything already mentioned. :kink:

 

Something not mentioned: I would love a coffee table style book full of photos of their 25 years together and apart. Otherwise, just more releases/re-issues. Would rather appreciate something that isn't just Spice being re-issued on vinyl again lol~

At this point im hoping for the movie to see the light of day (with a few new songs recorded in it) and a soundtrack to go with, could include some reworked classics as well as some new songs for the film.

Great idea Jay! I’d love a gorgeous, grown up coffee table book. Something that would appeal to their grown up fans. They have worked with so many amazing photographers over the years.

 

I’m also curious to see if the animated film actually happens. It’s something I would’ve really wanted in their hey day. I wonder if new generations will be interested? I do hope so!
