You have to always remember that being a Spice Girl is essentially a job to them. Whilst the things they can do as a spice girl I'm sure give the biggest 'high' like playing Wembley and the biggest paycheck, it's also by far the biggest commitment they have to make.

 

A tour isn't just the days they are actually performing, it's travelling, costume fittings, planning meetings, rehearsals, photo shoot to sell or promote it, the few days doing the press circuit when tickets go on sale.

 

Compare that to an evening bopping about playing a pre made dj set or Emma sat at home writing a few anecdotes for a baby book and you see how to them these days a tour or being Spice Girl is a big commitment.

 

 

I totally agree and I get that they would rather spend that time enjoying life with their families than being away from them.

The xmas merch looks very oh shit we should do some xmas merch a jumper, hat and t-shirt will do. The little miss bauble and christmas cards are like what they should have done, a chance for non clothing merch.

 

I have no idea what these things sell but at £55 for a jumper i guess 200 sold would be £11k so its no wonder we keep getting a constant stream of these clothing merch.

They need to just partner with Primark or H&M and release this stuff because we wouldn't complain if we could pick that jumper up for £15 from Primark. It is the £55 price tag and shipping. If you put that sort of price plus shipping it needs to feel special.

Thats the truth! Even if it was on Amazon, it would be cheaper. The price (and quality) just doesnt justify it and essentially makes the whole thing a boring, pointless affair, even before you account for the terrible designs...

 

If that jumper was £20 from the local HMV, I would probably get it.

It would feel more fun too picking it up from HMV/Primark/H&M as you were out xmas shopping.

 

Friends merch is absolutely everywhere, really they should be aiming for that not going high end only on their store unless they can offer something really special.

So true, if I saw it in primark for a tenner ot £15 I'd buy it straight away, I'm just no way spending £55 on it plus the extortionate shipping charges too :lol:

Yes and tbf Spice Girls are a 90's nostalgic phenomenon too they need to try capture the same demographic now. They are the everyday ordinary persons band they forget that.

When it comes to their merch, my only GRIPE is that I didnt buy the Spiceworld Pink hoodie back in 2019... I really regret that...

 

Everything since then has been utter pish.
