I Say: "After hearing Malibu I was surprised we now have the "old" Miley back aka the one that wasn't being outlandish during her Bangerz era. Malibu perfectly set the tone for the album and era. It is very sweet and light. I think the sound suits her so well and that although it isn't my favourite album of hers (which would probs be her Breakout album for me anyway) it does have some beautiful tracks on it".

I Say: "One of my favorite bands released this year, You Me At Six released their 5th album in early 2017. Despite a huge chart run for the album, it wasn't as good as most of their albums imo. It didn't help it was released during a period where there were not many albums out so that explains the long albm. However it did have some great album tracks and I can't fault it for being cohesive. I just wanted more from the tracks".

I haven't been following weekly personal charts so much this year so I didn't realise you were such a big fan of Heatstroke :o I really wasn't keen on it when it was first released but it grew on me so much when I heard it more on the album itself. It's still one of the weaker moments on the album for me but that's only because there are so many highlights, I wish "Skrt On Me" had been pushed as a single!! :cry:

I would say it's the worst song of her career but now she has stuff like Swish Swish, Miss You More & Into Me You See fighting for that title too :lol: There are some brilliant pop songs on the album for sure and I do enjoy returning to it but it's so much worse than her other three albums that it's hard not to be disappointed with it. Long gone are the days of no filler with Teenage Dream :cry:

 

I think Reputation has become my second favourite Taylor album now (behind 1989 though instead) so I hope it can do so too for you in time. I wasn't keen on the second half of the album at first but it has really grown on me. I hope "I Did Something Bad" is a single in the future though because it goes OFF, I love the instrumental to it especially :music: :wub:

Run For Cover and The Man were both really strong singles from The Killers, both reached my Top 100!

"Night And Day": Good album from The Vamps!

"Witness": Not a good album, although I like some songs on the album, I will never appreciate "Bon Appetit".

"Ultralife": LOVE this album and this band! I listened to it a lot when I was in my summer holidays in Italy!

"Reputation": Decent album, expected it to be worse, but it surprised me.

"Wonderful Wonderful": Many great singles from this album, especially "The Man" and "Run For Cover"!

Info: Hailing from Manchester Pale Waves are a four-piece indie pop band. They first broke out onto the scene with "There's A Honey". They remind me a lot of "The 1975", which two fun facts. They both come from Manchester and The 1975 produced There's A Honey. They are basically sound like a female-led version of that band BUT will at the same time stand out on their own. I can see them having a great year in 2018 and already doing so with a spot on the Sound of 2018.



05. Kojo Funds



Info: Dizzee Rascal, Kano, Lethal Bizzle, Wiley and now our #5 entry Kojo fund all have this in common. They all are from east London. From his agent's site, his sound is described as "His sound can be described as AfroSwing. He can go from Grime to R&B in a flash without breaking the listener's ear drums whilst doing so". So that is why I included him he appears to be quite a versatile urban artist that is why I am including him in my tips for 2018.

I Say: "Highly likely to be the most surprising album of the year. Even after "Big For Your Boots", I was skeptical about if the album would be good like that single was or disappointed. Safe to say I was not disappointed. I Say: "P!NK finally returned after a long time off. I was so eager to get new material from her as I just adore her. She came back with the amazing "What About Us" which was written about politticans and decision makers but does in it away it doesn't reflect that way in the song, she allowed the emotional club ballad to be whatever it is you want the song to mean. The whole album is full of powerful numbers and vocals. However whilst it may be her most coherent for me it doesn't have the highs that that last three have".
