More Than You Know  same thing happened to me lol, cus the week after it peaked at 8 was when it really hit me but I already dropped it down to 15 and I couldn't have it go 8-15-3 or something ://

Twins  I guess More Than You Know is that sort of song that you think you're over then it suddenly hits you again! Thanks Jeff!

I do like Jessie Ware's output this era, but it isn't QUITE as strong as previous offerings, it feels like something is missing.

I can't really comment because I'd never really paid that much attention to her before this era, but I guess it is kind of a change of style for her. Thanks Jack!

Found You doesn’t do much for me for JLV made a banging remix :music:

Hi Pete

A fantastic pick for album of the year! I agree with you that I knew of but hadn't been particularly impressed with all the buzz singles but it was the Brazil re-release that really got me interested. The whole album is a brilliant debut though so I can't wait to see what he brings in the future, I hope he only continues to get more and more successful - it's already amazing what he's managed to achieve considering his age :o

Selfish Love is my favourite of your honourable mentions, Jessie could sing the phone book and it would sound gorgeous but I really loved the production on this too. I got into it all over again as well once she released the Spanish version *.*

Loving this so far!!1 :cheer:

I have What Do You Think About The Car on picture disc.

My copy is the indies exclusive release with a bonus 7" of The Kids Don't Wanna Come Home

'Found You' I quite enjoyed for a few weeks but tired fast because of the vocals being all over the place in the drop which I can only tolerate so much when it's that high pitched. Good production anyhow

#99: The Strumbellas - Young & Wild

Peak: 01 / Month of Peak: July 2017

The Strumbellas' Chart History:

2016 04 Spirits

2016 32 We Don't Know

2017 01 Young & Wild

Congratulations Pete! We got to #99 before a former #1 appeared. oops. I came to know of this song by watching that TV advert about a plane. You know, the one with 'Captain Obvious' in it. He reminded me of that guy in the video of 'Spirits', reminding me that I hadn't checked these guys out in a while. Lo and behold, they had a new song out, and I was so delighted they still existed that I stuck this at #1. Needless to say, even though it's a good song it's nothing in comparison to Spirits and I think I even rate the #32-peaking 'We Don't Know' over it. Sorry.

#1 Ranking

#40. The Strumbellas - Young & Wild

#98: Papai Joci - Origo

Peak: 03 / Month of Peak: May 2017

Papai Joci's Chart History:

2017 03 Origo

2017 69 Ozonviz

Safe to say, Eurovison wasn't that great this year, with only 2 Eurovision entries reaching my Top 100 this year. This is the first, Origo by Papai Joci. Let's first off say I have no idea what this is about, but it's certainly a bold choice for Eurovision and in my books it's paid off. I mean, it's so different from everything else out there, and I'm sure I'm not the only one getting bored of slow pop songs taking up over half of Eurovision nowadays. Bring back more songs like this!

Yay for September Song, it took a while but I really grew to love that!! Easily the best song I've heard from him.

So pleased to see Declan as your #1 album of the year too - the biggest surprise of 2017 for me

Just giving it a listen - it sounds alright I guess but almost identical to the original :P

Glad you like these! I really hope we'll get some new Declan material in the new year also :D I'd love him to get some chart success as well! Thanks Josh :D

I guess it's an acquired taste :P That's what makes it for me though! Thanks Dan :D

#97: Joakim Lundell ft. Arrhult - My Addiction

Peak: 03 / Month of Peak: July 2017

Joakim Lundell's Chart History:

2017 13 All I Need (Joakim Lundell ft. Arrhult)

2017 03 My Addiction (Joakim Lundell ft. Arrhult)

2017 89 Waiting For

Arrhult's Chart History:

2017 13 All I Need (Joakim Lundell ft. Arrhult)

2017 03 My Addiction (Joakim Lundell ft. Arrhult)

2017 25 Just Fiction

So this year Swedish DJ Joakim Lundell released a number of songs with Swedish sibling duo Arrhult, the first two of which were really amazing and reached the higher positions of my chart. The first, All I Need, only reached #13, although It would probably have gotten much higher if I'd have known the artist beforehand. This was the case for the follow-up, My Addiction, which reached #3 and pops up here. It has all the tropical house features needed for me to love it plus an interesting video as well :P Joakim's more recent music has been nowhere near as good though unfortunately, whilst Arrhult managed a week in the Top 40 with BJSC entry Just Fiction.

#96: Philip Cecil & Alexander Rybak - Looking My Way

Peak: 03 / Month of Peak: September 2017

Philip Cecil's Chart History:

2017 03 Looking My Way (Philip Cecil & Alexander Rybak)

Alexander Rybak's Chart History:

2016 36 I Came To Love You

2017 03 Looking My Way (Philip Cecil & Alexander Rybak)

3 #3 peakers in a row? Who'd have fancied that?

Now we all know who record-breaking Eurovision winner Alexander Rybak is, but who is this Philip Cecil? Well I'm sorry but I've got no idea. What I can tell you though is that he makes a great dance track, combining Rybak's amazing voice and violin-playing skills with a dance beat and melody that just... sort of works! I always love European accents on catchy music as well so that was a selling point ;)

#95: LVNDSCAPE ft. Mi Manchi - In My Mind

Peak: 01 / Month of Peak: September 2017

LVNDSCAPE's Chart History:

2016 01 Is This Love (Bob Marley ft. LVNDSCAPE & Bolier)

2017 05 Walk Away (LVNDSCAPE ft. Kaptan)

2017 01 In My Mind (LVNDSCAPE ft. Mi Manchi)

Mi Manchi's Chart History:

2017 01 In My Mind (LVNDSCAPE ft. Mi Manchi)

So we stumble across our second #1! You may remember this as the song which fell from #1 to #31 in the New Format Week - quite frankly because it should probably have never been #1. It was just the best song in the chart at that time that was eligible for #1 under the mound of rules the new format was introduced to do away with. It does seem like a song that would probably go Top 5 in my chart, but not #1. You can't fault LVNDSCAPE's success in my chart though, with 2 #1s and another Top 5 hit (which will actually appear higher up in this countdown), and the new single Dive With Me will likely go Top 10 in my chart as well!

#1 Ranking

#39. LVNDSCAPE ft. Mi Manchi - In My Mind

#40. The Strumbellas - Young & Wild

'Origo' was quite an interesting Eurovision entry, though it didn't cross over to my chart. Says a lot about how much dance tracks are floating about at the moment too when most of the ones here didn't make my chart either, the last three all passed me by. I'm sure there'll be some I can give praise to soon enough though.
'Origo' appearing here is fab to see - one of my faves from Eurovision this year. as expected from Hungary, they always deliver

Surprised to see "What Do You Think About The Car?" being your album of the year!

And I like your honorable mention for your songs of the year!

That Throttle track is great! Not normally a fan of messy pitched vocal parts but it really works well in that song.

Also really liked Hit The Road Jack.

So many replies! :o

In My Mind  just that 1-31 drop tho lol

The new format did produce some iconic chart runs :P Thanks Jeff!

You should really give them a listen (if you haven't already), especially Looking My Way! Thanks Dan!

I wasn't that much a fan of Pioneer last year but this really hit me! Thanks mdh!

Why? Do I not seem like someone who would like Declan? :P Thanks Sergej!

Origo is a great song with powerful content in its lyrics executed very well, along with its A minor tonality.

Glad you like it! Thanks Dalek!

Great album of the year Pete!

Thanks Harry! It is indeed amazing :D

Thanks Dobbo! I wasn't that taken with HTRJ (much preferred Project Bassline's version) but Found You really got me!
