The official Brexit song

I don’t think I’ve heard Highs & Lows, or if I have I can’t rememberit at all. Hurts is still a fav of hers for me  I prefer it live to studio though strangely :kink:

For me, "Highs & Lows" has been the song that describes my 2017 experience.

It has many highs and many lows!

Highs and Lows is much more upbeat than any of her other stuff! Thanks Dexton!

#76: Wayne Woodward - N.U.M.B

Peak: 06 / Month of Peak: January 2017

Wayne Woodward's Chart History:

2016 30 Cold Christmas

2016 06 N.U.M.B

2017 22 Big Bad Wolf

2017 79 Animal

I'm pretty sure everyone who watches BGT remembers when this guy strolled on stage with a dreadful London accent, before shocking everyone y belting out a Sinatra classic. Honestly, I'd forgotten him less than a year after he finished 2nd in the public vote, but when I heard that he'd released an actual pop song, I was intrigued. Needless to say, I was impressed. It's not the type of stuff I really expected from him but I instantly stuck in on my playlist and on my Youtube video. His next two singles were a massive downhill from this, but N.U.M.B remains great.

#75: Madcon - Got a Little Drunk

Peak: 03 / Month of Peak: June 2017

Madcon's Chart History:

2017 03 Got a Little Drunk

I'd enjoyed quite a few Madcon tracks before this one but they were all before I began my Personal Chart (and I most certainly did not enjoy their collaborations with Marcus & Martinus and Christopher). So by the time this came out I had completely forgotten they existed. This captivated me instantly though, with great Afro-vibes and an impromptu rap in the middle. I was actually contemplating this being my #1 for a while, but of course this was out at the same time s Skyline and Friday Night :P

I hadn't listened to 'Highs & Lows' before until now, very nice! :o Sounds stronger than 'Hurts' ever did in my opinion, although my fave is still 'Breathing Underwater' by far - did you enjoy that one?

Highs and Low's should have been bigger imo :(

Agreed :( Thanks Harry!

It really should have been given a push, I think it could have been bigger than Hurts. Thanks Jordan!

#74: Nico & Vinz - Intrigued

Peak: 02 / Month of Peak: July 2017

Nico & Vinz' Chart History:

2016 09 Hold It Together

2016 08 Our Love

2016 07 Praying to a God

2016 02 Not For Nothing

2017 02 Intrigued

2017 33 What I Came Out For

2017 37 Listen

2017 46 So Bad

2017 52 Love 2 Feel

I feel like I'm a broken record with Nico & Vinz songs nowadays. I'm initially really disappointed, then I give the songs a few more spins and begin to like them, then I listen to any track from Black Star Elephant and just get really upset. This song is no different - I actually feel like this was the worst choice of single from the whole EP. And whilst Listen will probably go on to reach the Top 10, they're not who they used to be

#73: Tom Odell - Silhouette

Peak: 03 / Month of Peak: January 2017

Tom Odell's Chart History:

2016 03 Here I Am

2016 03 Silhouette

So after the amazing Here I Am, this was the next single for Mr. Odell. Whilst not as good as the former, this still really stood out and spent 2 weeks at #3 at the start of the year (since there was a lot less music around that month :P ) This era was great overall for him and I'm looking forward to some new material!

#72: HIGHT - Runway

Peak: 02 / Month of Peak: July 2017

HIGHT's Chart History:

2017 14 Hot2Touch (Felix Jaehn ft. Alex Aiono & HIGHT)

2017 02 Runway

I'd heard of HIGHT from the Felix Jeahn single, but wasn't really in a rush to listen to any more of his stuff. It was when I was shuffling my Your Discovery playlist to try and find songs for a contest on YouTube when I discovered this. It hit me instantly, and continued to grow after that! In hindsight, reaching #2 was probably a bit of a fluke due to my chart style at the time but it's still a great song and I really should re-visit it more!

#71: Captain Cuts ft. Nateur - Love Like We Used To

Peak: 01 / Month of Peak: January 2017

Captain Cuts' Chart History:

2017 01 Love Like We Used To (Captain Cuts & Nateur)

2017 01 House Party (The Knocks & Captain Cuts)

Nateur's Chart History:

2017 01 Love Like We Used To (Captain Cuts & Nateur)

So, as with HIGHT, I discovered this on my Spotify Discovery Playlist (back when that was my primary source of new music). It hit me pretty quickly, became my #1 for two weeks and then became my biggest BJSC hit to date! I did fall out of favour with this track later in the year; by June I would probably have said that this would be my least favourite #1 of the year, and I most certainly didn't think they'd get a big hit on my chart again, never mind a #1. But the amazing collab with The Knocks made me re-think, and giving this a listen now does give me that homely just-got-Spotify feeling most songs from that part of the year gave me.

#38. Oceans - Deep Blue

#39. LVNDSCAPE ft. Mi Manchi - In My Mind

Peak: 01 / Month of Peak: December 2016

Alan Walker's Chart History:

2016 01 Alone

2017 04 Routine (Alan Walker & David Whistle)

2017 25 Ignite (Alan Walker ft. K-391)

2017 08 Tired (Alan Walker ft. Gavin James)

2017 47 Sky (Alan Walker & Alex Skrindo)

2017 69 The Spectre

2017 18 All Falls Down (Alan Walker ft. Noah Cyrus & Digital Farm Animals)

The last #1 of 2016! I was aware of Alan Walker before this (clearly - who could miss him?), with Faded spending 8 weeks at #1 on my Voting Chart and being Europe's biggest hit in ages (stand aside Mr. Sheeran). This was the first song that really got me though. I don't know what it was about this song but I really liked it and it ended up being his first (and currently only) #1 in my chart! Since then his songs have gone gradually downwards but I hope he releases something else with his signature sound soon!

Silhouette wasn't really an obvious highlight from Wrong Crowd for me, but I really loved it when the single release came about as I got to dedicate more attention to it. Four brilliant singles out of four from that album

I haven't really listened to the album but all four singles were really good! (even if Concrete sounded a bit creepy oops :P ) Thanks Joseph!

#69: Sophie Francis - Without You

Peak: 01 / Month of Peak: April 2017

Sophie Francis' Chart History:

2017 01 Without You

So when I first heard the song, I was certainly intrigued. Mainly because DJs don't tend to be called Sophie. They tend to be called Dave or Martin. And the vocal sounded most definitely male. Turns out this is a producer of the female variety, and the song is pretty good! It probably was another 'fluke' #1 caused by the lack of good songs around April-time but you can't deny this is a brilliant debut!

#68: MIKA - It's My House

Peak: 02 / Month of Peak: December 2017

MIKA's Chart History:

2016 03 Hurts (Remix)

2017 02 It's My House

Time for another up and coming hit now! This has waltzed its way to #2 this week, probably due to the usual after-Christmas lull. I can't deny this song is pretty catchy, and everyone loves a bit of MIKA, but how have I managed to peak this above the amazing Hurts? Since it's not officially on YouTube yet I guess it'll get pushed as a single later on in the year, but by then it'll be way out of my chart.

Lil Sis Nora's Chart History:

2017 01 Llama In My Living Room (AronChupa ft. Lil Sis Nora)

Well this is the most... interesting #1 I've had this year. I did really like Little Swing, but not enough to enter it into what was then my Top 15, so this was his first lead track in my chart. I think it was the drop that sold it to me, it really hit me after a few listens... and the fact it was about llamas had absolutely nothing to do with its success in my chart :P
