I'd be surprised if its only a demo, it's very easily 3 minutes when you cut off the last 20 seconds which aren't necessary. Very very good, Australia finally provide an amazing entry in studio form!

This is my fave of the year, demo or not :lol: Ik that's a total blind stan thing to say but I am just so excited she's going to Eurovision and getting such a plaform (properly, rather than just performing Sea Of flags on the semi) bcause she's up there with Lady Gaga, Kelly Clarkson and Carrie Underwood as an all time fave of mine :wub: Plus it's been 3 years since we got a proper single from her that wasn't from The Secret Daughter!!

it's really good but nothing special tbh. the verses build up so well but the chorus and bridge could've been absolutely f***ing HUGE

 

Completely agree. The chorus is kinda just there, a bit bland and too mid-tempo for me.

I got the Australian friend I'm staying with in Australia really excited about this - we listened together tonight and were so disappointed by how distinctly average it is :( really quite monotonous, though not the worst entry by any means. Middle of the pack. Easily the weakest Australian entry to date (from first listen impressions).

Officially released on Friday.

 

Official video is out - sounds better than the low quality demo we'd heard; think if she uses a bit of improvisation (Dami style, not Isaiah style) then it could do decently.

Still love the song.

 

The video is very budget. I like the bits of her laying in the water but other parts where it’s zoomed out on the screen it looks like there are wires running across the floor.

Ok I can acc say this is my fave now without sounding like a deranged loon as it's properly out :kink: I thought that the other day's leak would just be the demo, it's not hugely different ofc but those little production flourishes make it feel more polished and ready for the stage. That last chorus :wub:

God knows what a mess I'd be if Jessica Mauboy won eurovision omfg I don't think it's a winner but it could easily do an If Love Was A Crime I think.

At this point I'd say this year's "If Love Was A Crime" is "Fuego" hmmm

I've just listened to this and messaged my friend saying this exact thing.

 

I think that we're going 2011 level this year. Consistently decent entries, but no particular standout, and we'll get a 'Running Scared' type victory (one with it's fans, but not particularly a fave with many people - if that makes sense).

 

And tbh, even with Sweden's choices, this is the first song I've come across this year that's given me that "Potential Winner" vibe. Not even 'Monsters' gave me this sort of vibe and just felt "potential winner" kinda by default coz it was one of few bangers at that point.
