Posted December 10, 20177 yr QK_iX5cPDhE A trailer, synopsis and a release date (March 8th!) for the second season of Jessica Jones has been released! New York City private investigator Jessica Jones (Krysten Ritter) is beginning to put her life back together after murdering her tormenter, Kilgrave. Now known throughout the city as a super-powered killer, a new case makes her reluctantly confront who she really is while digging deeper into her past to explore the reasons why. SO SO excited for this! As I keep saying, the first season was absolutely amazing and it's been so long since then!! Jessica was also the highlight of the Defenders which really reinforces my excitement and belief that this will be amazing. Fun fact: every episode has been directed by a female director :o
December 10, 20177 yr YAAAAAAAAASSSS. I'm really not a fan of the superhero genre at all but this is just SO good. The first series was probably one of my favourite original series on Netflix ever, along with OITNB and 13 Reasons Why's first series.
December 11, 20177 yr Season 1 was easily the best of all the Marvel shows and I'm optimistic for 2. My only concern is that it needs a really strong antagonist. Ritter is great as Jones but the first season worked so well because of the dynamic between her and Kilgrave, and the sexual abuse undertones of their relationship. Tennant's performance was also great. Without something strong to get its teeth into it could suffer
February 7, 20187 yr a3g1_PbueDs Season 2 trailer is out *.* So much hype!! I preferred Jessica Jones to the other Marvel TV shows, although Daredevil is a close second. The Defenders was fun too but Jessica shines best on her own, drinking and fighting as she does best :P Great to see that the season will be delving into her origins too. Something I’ve always liked about Marvel characters is their complex and often heartbreaking origin stories, and Jessica’s looks like just that  So excited Edited February 7, 20187 yr by Dexton
February 24, 20187 yr Season 2 coming on the 8th of March, can't believe it's been 2 1/2 years since the first season :o It doesn't even seem like that long ago, although she did have a prominent role in Defenders to be fair
March 8, 20187 yr Is anyone else excited for this then? Out today anyway as Facebook has just reminded me, will begin later tonight!
March 8, 20187 yr I'm not excited as I thought I would be, especially as the reviews seem very lukewarm so far :(.
March 8, 20187 yr I remembered all February yet kinda forgot this was happening until i randomly saw it on another site binge watching yasssss thank f*** i don't work until monday
March 8, 20187 yr My netflix is saying that season 2 is now available, but it is only giving me season 1? :/ ffs.
March 9, 20187 yr Author Watched the first episode and it was better than I was expecting (only because the reviews have been sub-par!). I am worried how the series will pan out as it doesn't have Kilgrave in a main villain capacity and he was a BIG part in what helped make the first series so good. He's the best villain of the whole MCU for me. Still feeling positive though.
March 9, 20187 yr saw this in its entirety in 1.5 days oops overall i really liked it. very strong season. not much blood and gore a la The Punisher but it really works. i love me some origin stories and this one didn't disappoint. i really appreciated and LOVED the aggressive and unapologetic sexism/homophobia/school shootings confrontation in the season, especially at the beginning of the season. really feels tongue-in-cheek at places (*Trish shows a rifle* - Jessica: "You are not shopping for groceries in Texas!". this absolutely MURDERED me  ). one thing though, the Jeryn ALS thing felt a bit like filler but I guess it was needed for very important character development and the way things ended is a nice starting point to have for further seasons. Trish's character is really interesting and it was nice to see an origin of hers of some sort as well when she was an addict. I'm excited to see what's going to happen with her new powers and such. Also everyone falling out with Jessica will be a curious shift for season 3. still continues to be one of the best series around and the only superhero TV show I would not mind rewatching.
March 10, 20187 yr it's jessica jones... DUH. the fact i wasn't working on thursday and friday helped too :')
March 23, 20187 yr I finished watching this last night and I found it solid. Season 1 was elevated by Kilgrave possibly being the best villain in the whole MCU. This season felt like the same but with a slightly weaker villain. However my main gripe was, although I understand they were trying to promote the flaws of all the characters during the season, I think they made Trish far too un-likeable. April 7, 20187 yr Author This was a very solid season, not as good as the first OF COURSE but certainly better than the rest of the Netflix-Marvel world. There was a lot of focus on all the characters, with their characteristics certainly pushing all the storylines. I thought Jessica and her mums relationship was REALLY good and well played and particularly how Jessica was stuck in the middle between her and Trish, making it very cruel (and very shocking) for Trish to be the one who kills her mum. After seeing how her mum was on the way to redemption (although she would never be fully 'good'), it really was quite a shocking moment. Will definitely change things for Season 3 (if there is one) but I did like having that strong bond between the pair. I do agree that they kind of pushed Trish too far to be unlikable, they kind of destroyed her from the character we'd previously seen in Season 1! (can't get over how they could only think up one line for 'I Want Your Cray Cray') Jessica is such a great character though and I love her relationships with everyone else.
