a-list on Radio 1, this has potential with the right Spotify support to be a big hit in the New Year - perhaps the Take Me To Church/Hold Back The River of this year? it's absolutely incredible anyways, and it somehow manages to make vague tropical influences sound fresh and relevant.

this is fantastic. I already heard it when it came out on new music Friday back in October. really stood out but I never really gave much thought to it actually doing anything, kinda like Ex's and Oh's in that case.

would be lovely to see it make top 40 alone even if it doesn't get too big. (although with him being on the Sound... maybe it could do a James Bay or Hozier or September Song)

i like him and the song

but not on the hozier level

This is soo good, would love to see it be a hit in the new year

The AlunaGeorge remix is so good too

Beautiful lyrics helps this standout from his other stuff and could gain commercial success!
Does anyone else think it’s strange that the song is called Leave A Light On, yet the lyrics are “Leave The Light On”?

Not keen how this started, and then suddenly it burst into this Imagine Dragons "Radioactive" style banger. Like this!

i swear they've edited the song on spotify? it sounds nowhere near as good now :(
nvm lol it was just the sound on my speakers

  • 3 months later...

New version of the video was released last week

There's also a High Contrast Remix out that completely invigorates the song

This seems to be one of the most 'officially' remixed tracks of recent times!! I count 9 available to stream, plus an acoustic and the main version. A shame it didn't become a proper hit. The High Contrast Remix gives me life - it feels so long since this sound was popular already.
I always thought it would be huge if there was a more eventful chorus. His voice excites me though
Clean Bandit's Symphony equally has 9 remixes plus an acoustic version which is ridiculous imo. Why does there need to be so many remixes?
It's a great way of appealing to different consumers and spreading the streams; getting onto playlists; etc. Though obviously not enough to catapult it up the charts.
