July 19, 20204 yr Ellie’s never been a big week one act tbh but her previous three albums (in the UK at least) all had pretty strong longevity with lengthy chart runs. Even Delirium which was seen as an underperformance spent 17 weeks inside the top 20. So I’m hopeful this could potentially have legs of the right post album singles are pushed and she’s supported on streaming sites and does some promo.
July 20, 20204 yr don't think the album will last more than a couple weeks in the top 100 not Ellie's fault, it's the way the album chart is now Unlike Dua, Becky Hill, Mabel etc which are full of hits, Ellie's album is full of flops so won't help with streaming points it's how the album chart works now, cannot compare with 2015
July 20, 20204 yr I'm a bit disappointed by the album. :( It sounds like an album with all the singles cherry-picked out so you're left with only album tracks! Think they could've snuck Close To Me and Sixteen into the standard and it would've rounded the album off a bit better. It's a step in the right direction but it's not really drawing me back, she's lost her spark and I don't think she really knew what she wanted to release as it's lost all artistic direction. My two I think I'll keep listening to are Tides and Flux. Start, Power, How Deep Is Too Deep and Love I'm Given were all decent too.
July 20, 20204 yr Author I’m surprised at that actually! I wouldn’t say she’s lost her spark at all. The lyrics are incredible imo! Definitely a return to form. Love I’m Given is quickly becoming my fave. It’s such an anthem and I can’t wait to see it live omfg.

I like the album but I don't think it would've hurt for Close to Me / Sixteen / Slow Grenade to be in the main tracklist at the very least, I think they'd have slotted in quite nicely (and I'm sure a place could've been found for Hate Me and Worry About Me without it being too clunky as well).
July 20, 20204 yr The only Eg.0 track that would fit on Brightest Blue is Slow Grenade imo. The others...nah.
July 24, 20204 yr  So deserved  Excited to see the sales, I wouldn't be shocked if she got a massive boost from Thursday ala Selena, 5SOS as loads of bundles hadn't/haven't been shipped yet.
July 24, 20204 yr Chart positions so far: #1 United Kingdom #9 Ireland #12 Germany #17 Belgium (Flanders) #30 Norway #37 Belgium (Wallonia) #86 Italy #94 Netherlands EDIT As I don't wanna spam aha: 14,820 sales in the UK, 11,129 pure. Given everything I'm not complaining at that. Edited July 24, 20204 yr by Andrew.
July 24, 20204 yr Woooo! Ellie getting that third #1 album! That’s like joint most for a BRIT female isn’t it alongside Adele, Amy Winehouse, Florence & Kate Bush. I’m happy it’s been confirmed. I really like the album way more than I thought I would so it’s definitely deserved
