The problem with Liverpool is that they haven't been clinical enough. The only bad performance was the one vs. Spurs where we started off poorly and then we're down to 9 men very quickly after

Losing points hasn't got anything to do with bedding Henderson and Adam in. Gerrard played vs. Norwich where they had 101 chances and should have won comfortably and yet didn't. Having him in the team didn't make much of a difference

Newcastle 2-0 up at Stoke at half time, Demba Ba with two more goals. I have to say I didn't expect them to be winning that, maybe they won't but still, it would be a superb result and maybe they can challenge for the top 6. I still doubt it, but you never know. It would be quite nice to see.

I'd just like to take this opportunity to say that Newcastle United, Alan Pardew and indeed the people of the city of Newcastle, Tyne and Wear can all go and fuck themselves.

That is all.

I don't know how Newcastle are doing so well. Ba's record is really good, and I don't think he won't stop scoring goals. His overall record is just a little bit worse than a goal every game, which is very good. Cabade (sp?) is fantastic. I don't think they'll hold it up though. Played none of the bigger teams yet.

Just have to say in an age where footballers are singled out to be money grabbing, couldn't care less types that away from the Premier League prima donna's and unsavory headlines, a real football hero stepped out last night.

Young Doncaster Rovers striker Billy Sharp lost his two day old son Louie on Saturday, last night he led a rapturous minutes applause in memory of his tragic short life, then went out and PLAYED, just three days after his death. He was determined to score for his little boy and he did exactly that, not just any old goal either, but a sweet, sweet volley, one of the best of his career. He celebrated with a simple poignant message on his T Shirt underneath his shirt - 'That's For You Son' and a point to the sky.

Emotional, and absolute kudos to referee Darren Deadman who did NOT book him for taking off his shirt. A rare show of compassion from the referee.

Billy is no stranger to me personally having made his name with my beloved Scunthorpe, goals that gave me so much pleasure and a life time of memories, but I've never been prouder than last night. Such courage to even step out on the pitch, let alone play and score, the measure of character of that man. He's long been a football hero of mine for the contribution to my club but last night I think he became a hero to so many who have never even heard his name before.

The celebration - Brought grown men at the game to tears

So much love for this man right now

Agreed. I have nothing but respect for that man. Shows the likes of Carlos Tevez what for.
I have to say huge respect to him. I kind of met him once and I've thought he was an utter bellend as a result ever since, but not anymore. What courage.
Good first half for the Rams, 2-1 lead :D
Firing blanks for Carlisle's long journey, but my dad told me the team coach went off without the captain who was being interviewed for local radio. He had to go rather abruptly.
Any Derby fans on here? COYR! :)

No. Derby were pretty bad really, shocking at shooting, had 3 more good chances to the 2 they scored but blasted them all a mile over! Paul Taylor is a god, so glad we found him and picked him up.

Man United were awful but ground out a 1-0 win. Go figure.

Fulham (H), Wigan (H), Wolves (A), Blackburn (H) next; 10 points plzthx.

I now work with someone who plays for St Neots Town FC and I go to watch them every now and again haha. Feels weird watching someone you know. Would be nice if he made it far, seems a decent prospect and St Neots are on the rise aswell after getting promoted last year and being top 5 this season so far!

But yesterday was the final time we heard Tim Gudgin who's been reading out the football results at the end of Grandstand and Final Score for 16 years

He began work on Grandstand in 1976, reading out the rugby and racing results and then in 1995 he took over as the broadcaster of the football results when Len Martin died.

He had such an iconic voice. It's very understandable though with the BBC moving to Salford. He lives on the South Coast.
