Brighton's first game is at home to Doncaster. So the first competitive match at the new stadium will be against the same opponents as the last visitors to the Goldstone Ground in 1997. The next home game is in the League Cup against Gillingham, Brighton's landlords for a couple years after leaving the Goldstone Ground.
Very happy with Peterborough's first 2 games, Palace at home for game 1 is one of the best starts we could have hoped for, and then anything could happen away at Blackpool, probably a 5-5 draw
Happy with Sunderland at home as an opening fixture. Will probably be a good time to play Arsenal 2nd too as they'll have their champions league qualifying matches around then too

Anyone off to a game today? I'm heading off to Peterborough v Crystal Palace in a while, not expecting much from this season at all. Needed to spend a fair bit of money to compete in this league, but not much has been going on really, only 1 player has been signed for money :(

It's hard to see Peterborough having anything other than a struggle this season, although it's a decent game to start with.

On my way to Forest now, buzzing this morning that it's arrived! :D

Wish I was! Conference season doesn't start until next week though. So jealous of all the football league fans today!

Glad that everything's nearly underway again but Liverpool away's hardly got me jizzing my pants with excitement. The season for me starts properly on the 20th.
Currently very happy Barnet have actually won on the first day of the season, and an away win at that.
Not a good start to put it politely. 3-0 defeat at home to Notts County. <_<
Brilliant start for Derby, 2-1 win against Birmingham :D
And we drew 0-0 with Hibs in an appallingly poor game and our final pre-season friendly, after which the Hibs fans started going apeshit, culminating in trouble in the city centre and sparking rumours of two of our fans being stabbed :yahoo:

For once Liverpool don't concede 3 goals in a pre-season match

Lose to Hull City and Vallerenga's B Team, but win and get a clean sheet vs. Valencia? How does that work

f***ing hell, I just knew we'd lose it at the death. Dave Jones looking rather smug in the studio, we should have put two or three past Cardiff before they scored.

Pre-seasons a load of nonsense. I hate it, especially in this modern age. I remember when Spurs had that brilliant season and Craig was proclaiming Spurs were going to be challening for the title ...instead they were involved in a relegation battle for a good few months!

5th in the league, going up again ha. Can't believe how poor Crystal Palace were, I knew they weren't likely to be anything special but Posh dominated, double the amount of chances and over 60% possession. Great start!
