I quite love the song but damn why don't they put it up for streaming already?

I listen to music through streaming so I can't add it to my playlist yet.

She's with BMG now, they didn't release Double Dutchess for a good month ro two after it leaked.

It's okay after a couple of listens, it doesn't really sound like anything current to me but her voice is the same as ever which is nice to hear. I can't even remember how "Into the Blue" goes so I probably prefer it to that but it's nowhere near as good as "All the Lovers".

There are discussions today about bringing the releases forward.

It should be released this Friday. so it gets full week of sales and streaming. But if she has promo lined up which no doubt she has to get max impact then we may need to wait.....

 

if she releases it on streaming/download this weekend then the video/physical later it could give it a bit of longevity..... who knows her plans

 

but surely if she is doing promo in Paris then she is going to have to play some of the songs and therefore have them available to buy instantly?

 

plus not many tracks released this Friday so....... could be a good opportunity. To be fair she could release a second song before the album release also.....

She won't get a hit out of this anyway, just chuck it out. Plus she will be hammered by streaming anyway, so physicals won't help squat.

SOngs also rarely peak in their first week anymore. I'd rather see a long(ish) run in the loe end of the charts than a peak high then dive into nothing run.

Exactly, she's had and still has got her lefacy and nothing can take that away but she's past her days of getting smashes anyway so it hardly matters. It's better that people can listen legitimately because it's gonna be out there regardless.

It's not going to set the charts alight but I suspect this will comfortably make it into the Top 40 on first week. That'll likely be its peak but then hopefully sell steadily from its second week.

 

I'm mainly just looking forward to seeing Kylie performing the song and doing interviews and getting the chance to speak passionately about this album as it's clear it's been a time of reflection for her.

Agreed, some kind of punchier final chorus would make it totally perfect. But it's still a superb song.

 

It feels like a song that will go OFF live, I can see it being huge as a closer on tour.

I have to say it doesn't feel like it's only 3 minutes for me; not that it feels that much longer but it feels sufficient and gives the song room to do its job. Whereas something like '2 Hearts' has reached its climax by the 2 minute mark. I dare say there will be an extended mix, fan-made if not official, and I would still definitely be here for that.

I think it sounds longer than 3 mins which is good. I also think she will perform it well on TV.

 

Also releasing on a Friday is important no matter what anyone says.... some streams is better than none.

Her current fans don't even stream. As good as this song is it wont gain her any new fans. And if it does, it will not be enough to dent any charts

Have you seen how much power streams have? Her current fanbase won't get to dent the charts. Steps were #1 on itunes for ages but streams caused it to be a low top 40 hit. They had the added bonus of it being their first proper single in YEARS.

 

Kylie has less hype, less streams and will not even get anywhere near the top of the itunes charts. It really does not matter when the song comes out. It wont chart or be a hit. The longer they go without even addressing the leak, the more they are screwing things up. If it wa sout then less people would look for the leak.

The iTunes chart she can climb easily.... its not as difficult as it used to be as streaming more influential, therefore needs some crossover.......

 

Steps are Steps....

The point is itunes has very little effect anymore, and most of her sales will be from it.

 

Steps managed a decently selling top 40 single and a Gold certified slbum, Kylie wishes she could match that.
