Uh, not at all. She also went for a while to London in the autumn. The live stream was even filmed there, so she has definitely been around the world. I honestly don't understand why you keep defending her. I am also a big fan of hers, so I am definitely not hating on her, but she is completely selfish (just like Rita, Madonna) and live in her own bubble. People have to obey such strict rules and she just gives big middle finger to them, living her priviliged live with her anti-vaccin boyfriend.

She wasn't living permanently in London in autumn, she was there for work (to film Studio 2054 and the award show performances) and then went back to the US.

How is she giving a middle finger or being disrespectful if she is adhering to all the travel rules and regulations that are there for everyone and not just celebs? Where are people getting that narrative from? Just because the UK has a stay-at home lockdown now doesn't mean the rest of the world does too?

Honestly feels like people will jump at anything to call out somebody without knowing the facts or the backstory.

I agree with Kath.

I don’t think she should be held responsible for what is happening anywhere in the world except for her own safety and others around her. I am sure she checks and does tests regularly to make sure she isn’t spreading or hurting anyone around her.

I know I am doing the same and everyone in my circle. The only difference is that no one cares about what I do and don’t lol because I don’t have 58 million followers!!!

The problem is that celebrities like to tell us all to stick to the rules, stay at home otherwise xyz will happen but then it's discovered that they're the ones breaking the rules. I see your arguements for why Dua is being careful or sticking to the appropriate rules of each country etc. and that may be true, but the general public don't have the same privileges and there's been so many examples of celebrities blatantly not adhering to the rules that I think people have had enough and they'll call out any behaviour where they feel they've been patronised or mocked.

I'm not personally bothered whether celebrities use their privileges (so long as they're still being careful and whatnot), but don't be telling everyone else how to behaviour otherwise you'll be called out for being a hypocrite.

I want to add one thing though, she should be more aware of the situation and whether post about it or not. Sometimes it’s for the best to keep some things to yourself!!!

That’s my only critique for Dua!!!

There's no proof that she's using celebrity privileges to travel or break any rules because Leisure travel is allowed in the US state Dua came from and Mexico for the general public.

Dua said people should stay at home when most of the world was in full lockdown, and while that may be the case in the UK now, it isn't the case in the US or Mexico where restrictions eased. She can't be a hypocrite because it's two different situations.

it's crazy that stans are jumping through hoops to defend their fav lol she has evidently broken the rules throughout the pandemic, just accept it?

not even speaking about this occasion, there was a time during the first lockdown she spoke about isolating with her boyfriend and then next day she was celebrating her sister's birthday with her parents during the time that household mixing was completely off limits.

I sort of agree w/what Liam said, I don't actually care, I'm not going to like.. unstan Dua or burn my Future Nostalgia vinyl, I'm just disappointed, especially when she fully advocated to her followers to stay home multiple times.

And even then she's outing HERSELF. this isn't a privacy breach, she's posting her photos and turning off the comments- she's evidently aware. Just.. very privileged behaviour that is kinda ugly.

I'm not jumping through hoops to defend Dua at all, and I can understand how vacation pics can upset people during this time and agree she should not have posted them.

However, where is the proof that she has broken any regulations for this private vacation?

Spoke of? Dua and Anwar did isolate in the Airbnb flat for the first UK lockdown. They didn't just "speak of it". And family meetings were allowed at the time of Rina Lipa's birthday (announced on 11 May and Rina's birthday was on 15 May)

It feels like people are following each other in jumping to a lot of conclusions and doing this witch hunt on Dua in an attempt to appear "woke". I would also turn off my comments if I were her.

She has been posting holiday pictures, AGAIN. At this point I'm not even sure if she's either just v ignorant, just not very smart, or both. For an artist who has run, and is still running, such an amazing album campaign, you would think people around her would also advice want to not post on the socials. Rita could 'cancelled' for a lot less. I mean, I still love her music and her as well, but at the same time it's also making me incredibly frustrated.

People in and out of US are traveling and I think she's taking advantage of that.

Planes are getting filled to Mexico and Caribbeans since they started allowing people from US to travel in those countries with 72 hours pre-flight negative test. Now starting January 26th passengers also need a negative test to enter back in US.

I know this is not an excuse if one should travel during pandemic but it's just a human nature I guess, taking advantage of anything that comes as an opportunity!!!

Restrictions are eased for a reason to allow travel and holidays. She isn't breaking rules in the US or Mexico. She is allowed to leave the house and go on holiday.

It's not the same like Rita who breached lockdown rules twice in the UK. Dua is not in a lockdown in the UK since July last year. When will people start realizing this :selena:

It's not even about breaking the rules, is it? The US is one of the worst hit countries in the world, the fact that their government did not put on a lockdown doesn't mean that you should travel all over the place, and then post it all over social media as well, when you know you have a big influence. It's arrogant and unacceptable behaviour.

I disagree. Eased travel restrictions are there for a reason, not for people to stay at home but to support a dying hospitality industry and prevent the millions of job losses its suffering (including mine).

Dua Lipa shouldn't be shamed for having a private holiday in Mexico when it's within regulations. People don't know the safety measures and testing that's being done. Airlines and hotels have the strictest of protocols. If she didn't care about the pandemic and regulations, why would she take legal action against the British media for their fake news about her breaking pandemic rules?

100% agreed.

My job is in the same position (airline industry) and airlines are constantly advising people that travels are safe as long as you follow simple safety measures (keep your mask on, avoid large gatherings with strangers and get tested before and after travels).

It's not technically against the rules, no, but it's still disappointing that she's not taking a pandemic seriously. Even if she insists on going on holiday, she could do it without showing everything off on Instagram - it's not a great look when so many people are taking the pandemic seriously and have had holidays cancelled. The UK's her best market and we're in another lockdown with nearly 2000 people dying every day, most of us are complying and are barely even leaving our houses, yet Dua's showing off her holiday pics. It's quite insensitive and it's not a good look even if she is being safe - this is evident on Twitter where the vast majority of people are rightfully disappointed in her.

I'm not cancelling her and I won't stop being a fan, I LOVE Dua, but I don't really like the approach she's taking here as it's coming across as selfish.

I think you’re taking it a little too far for saying that she doesn’t take pandemic seriously when we all know how hard she worked during these difficult times promoting her music and even held a TV concert and give a lot to her fans, while always making sure all the proper safety measures were taken...and then the moment she enjoyed a little time off she’s selfish!!

Edit:

I also noticed that no one actually jumped to other celebrities for posting vacation pics, I don’t follow a lot of them but I noticed Britney have posted about her Hawaii vacation!!!

Couldn't have said it better myself. I am obviously still a fan, if I was not a fan I wouldn't even post in here, but the fact how some of her fans in here keep defending her while literally everyone online is saying she is being irresponsible, says a lot.

Like I said, it's not even about going on holiday. Britney, who was mentioned here as well, did go on holiday with Sam, just the two of them, and that's all good and well. Dua goes with different groups of people, posting pictures where everyone is hugging each other, partying as if nothing in the world is happening. And yes, maybe she is being very careful, but she knows she has influence. And people, especially young fans, see her out and about all the time and think that is okay. And then we haven't even touched on her anti-vaccin partner. It's just all very disappointing behaviour, especially when I usually think Dua comes across as very smart and considering of a lot of issues.
