I'm sorry I cannot take you seriously  You must be posting for the sake of being "edgy" and having a different opinion. It literally says "I know you want it", it's basically advocating that no doesn't mean no.

YOU are the "SJW gone wild" if you really think "stupid boy" is that offensive  Plus you just said a page ago that it would be appropriate to call someone stupid in this scenario because "it was done to you" so make your mind up?

Yes definitely, it was the song of the year and just a case of SJWs going loco and university ‘safe space’ culture rolling into the mainstream media

I posted it cos it does sound sexist and it is just a ridiculous lyric

How is the song about rape? I don’t get that meaning from the song

I thought it was about an obese girl taking pride in herself and trying to feel good despite her size

Usually skinny girls get picked for this sort of thing (I am not hating or being sizist, just posting a fact)

omg this thread :')

just for reference THIS is the song being referred to...

what is actually offensive about referring to one person as stupid who's done something that's justified being called stupid? (your own words)

Tombola, please explain what is sexist about calling someone a 'stupid boy'

Do you think P!nk was sexist for singing about 'stupid girls'?

I am not trying to be edgy

‘You stupid boy’ is just a silly lyric that makes the song sound like it was written by a five year old and makes the song sound immature.

Not everyone has the same opinion, isn’t that the point of a discussion forum?

I actually like the song as I said a page or two back, I initially disliked it due to the chicken noises and the lyrics but it has grown on me.

I’m not afraid to point out double standards

I know the song, it is one of my most played songs of all time!

To me when I heard this song first (Toy), it sounded like it was putting down all boys, I didn’t know it was only about one. Tbh, the chicken noises are distracting.

No cos she is a female singer but if it was released by Justin Timberlake then it would have been

but where are the double standards? if a male was a victim of objectification and he was calling that person 'a stupid girl' for doing so it'd still be fine. no double standards. Completely different to what's being said in Blurred Lines.

if you don't like the lyric that's fine but your justification for it makes you sound like a troll as it doesn't make any sense whatsoever.

And he'd be perfectly fine to do so, just like Netta is fine to do so here.

What Tombo is really doing is taking the side of the guy who is objectifying Netta. He feels sorry for him :(

Yeah but it a man said a woman was a ‘stupid girl’ then he would receive backlash for being misogynistic/anti-feminist/caveman/sexist etc but a woman says it about a man and it is all fine

I’m not a troll, I have given my true feelings for the song

Here are the lyrics, there is nothing about sexual abuse in there, just lots of random noises and lines about Pikachu and teddy bears

I looked up the line in Hebrew and apparently it means she won’t be tricked or manipulated but without looking that up I wouldn’t have known

Intro]Ree, ouch, hey, hm, la

Ree, ouch, hey, hm, la

Ree, ouch, hey, hm, la

Ree, ouch, hey, hm, la

Ree, ouch, hey, hm, la

Ree, ouch, hey, hm, la

[Verse 1]

Look at me, I'm a beautiful creature

I don't care about your "modern time preacher"

Welcome boys, too much noise, I will teach ya

Hey, I think you forgot how to play

My teddy bear's running away

The Barbie got something to say, hey, hey, hey

Hey! My "Simon says" leave me alone

I'm taking my Pikachu home

You're stupid just like your smartphone

[Pre-Chorus]

Wonder Woman don't you ever forget

You're divine and he's about to regret

He's a bucka-mhm-buckbuckbuck-mhm boy

Bucka-mhm-buckbuckbuck

I'm not your bucka-mhm-buck-mhm-buck-mhm

[Chorus]

I'm not your toy (Not your toy)

You stupid boy (Stupid boy)

I'll take you down now, make you watch

We're dancing with my dolls on the motha-bucka beat

Not your toy (Cululoo, cululoo)

(Cululoo, cululoo)

[Verse 2]

A-a-a-Ani lo buba

Don't you go and play with me boy!

A-a-a-Ani lo buba

Don't you go and play, shake!

(Cululoo, cululoo) Wedding bells ringing

(Cululoo, cululoo) Money men bling-bling

I don’t care about your stefa, baby

[Pre-Chorus]

Wonder Woman don't you ever forget

You're divine and he's about to regret

He's a bucka-mhm-buckbuckbuck-mhm boy

Bucka-mhm-buckbuckbuck

I'm not your bucka-mhm-buck-mhm-buck-mhm

[Chorus]

I'm not your toy (Not your toy)

You stupid boy (Stupid boy)

I'll take you down now, make you watch

We're dancing with my dolls on the motha-bucka beat

[bridge]

I'll t-t-t-take you now

W-w-w-with me now, boy

[Outro]

(I'm not your toy)

You stupid boy

I'll take you down now, make you watch me

Dancing with my dolls on the motha-bucka beat

(I'm not your toy) Look at me, I'm a beautiful creature

(You stupid boy) I don't care about your "modern time preacher"

(I'm not your toy) Not your toy, not your toy, not your toy, toy

I'm not your toy, not your toy, not your toy, toy

I don't think they would - cause we know the lyrics refer to one person rather than half the population. Yes that's a less common situation as in society it's not as accepted for a male to share their story of domestic abuse but they would not receive backlash for that view.

Please provide us with an instance in which "stupid girl" is seen as misogynistic and sexist. There is no comparison at all between "I know you want it" and "stupid girl" and you can't just say "oh IF this happened it'd be sexist!1!1!" as a justification for hating this lyric. It is not sexist to call anyone stupid, if they are. It's not comparable at all to say calling someone a $l*t or seeing them as a sexual object. It's an adjective used in daily life...

Cheeky Girls GH is my 4th most streamed album of the week :cheer:

"Take Your Shoes Off" is discriminatory against fingers.

That’s the one Cheeky Girls song I didn’t include in my rate choices
