For me, there’s also the danger that it’s now turned fanfiction. Obviously it’s not intentional but that feeling can’t be helped when there is no longer the source material and, even though I think George has told them the ending, they’re still deviating towards their own version of the ending. Also, when the basis of the show has been focused on individual character journeys and now, to get to the endgame, you have them all meeting up with each other for the first time at all/since the first season, it can’t be helped but my first thought was always fan fiction even though that’s where the narrative has to lead to!

It’s a really hard one but at least they have spent a bit more time on these final two seasons even if it was in part to cost and the sope of the cinematic scenes. George should have just got on with writing the actual main books rather than having his fingers in every toher pie going!

I'm quite excited tbh. The ending of the last season had one of the most satisfying deaths on the show for me. I'm interested to see how this season goes and what sort of ending they go for. I wouldn't mind the Night King winning and killing everyone/turning them into white walkers tbh. Although I doubt that would happen. In terms of who I don't want to die: Arya/Sansa. I have a feeling Daenerys/Jon will die together sacraficing themselves to save everyone, but we'll see!
I’ve kinda lost my hype for this, I don’t really care that much for a lot of the characters that are left. I’m convinced Arya will die, most likely at the hands of someone she cares about whilst she’s in the form of someone else - ie they’ll think they’re killing Cersei or something.

OMG SHOOK. That would be an amazing twist and I've not seen that even mentioned yet! :o great theory!

I just think it’s most likely... for her story to be satisfying, she either needs to successfully complete her mission (and she has a lot of names on her list still!) or she has to die as a result of her newfound talents - the latter just seems more impactful to me and is definitely how I would end her story if I were writing it.
I can't help but root for Cersei even after everything she's done. She's gloriously and unashamedly evil and twisted. A truly iconic villain *.*

It’s going to feature the longest battle scene ever recorded for the Battle of Winterfell! The current record holder is The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers’

40 mins

eek, the series is certainly going to be visually stunning if nothing else and probably the biggest TV event ever!

Apparently major deaths are featuring in the Battle of Winterfell too D: It really does sound like this is going to have incredible visuals *.*

I really hope it's not one of those episodes where we lose 4-5 characters. I always feel the emotional impact is lessended, especially if one of the Big 6 dies. I think at that stage it looks like pretty much every major character bar Cersi is in Winterfell.

Beating Helm's Deep? I thought they had already done it in one of the battle episodes. You know, that is promising, it means there is a spectacle coming that will make up for how long it's been away.

In some ways I hope that it's utter chaos and plenty of people we know do to reflect how a desperate war often is. Would fit very true to the series if someone we thought was safe were to get a sudden and brutal death at this point. The last season felt rather Hollywood-heroic overall and I'm not sure I'd be satisfied if it ended that way too.

I love how much of a bitch Cersei is when literally everyone is fighting the dead except her

Can't find Tyrion saying that line "I never bet against my family" in any of his scenes with Catelyn. He certainly said it in the books. But as I proved before, the show doesn't shy away from stating that people have said something when they actually didn't. If they do show it as a flashback though . But if they do it like "I did warn you not to trust me" in the Littlefinger scene (something he did say), perhaps they can get away with it.

One week to go! :o

Fans have decoded a scene from one of the trailers where Daenerys is stood in front of a fireplace which is believed to be Dragonstone which has fuelled speculation they lose at Winterfell and retreat there :o

everyone who care has seen it by now but obvs spoilers follow

Lena Headey wanted a better death for Cersei:

“I invested as a viewer and I have my favourite characters. And I’ve got a few of my own gripes. But I haven’t sat down drunkly with David [benioff] and Dan [Weiss] yet.” Benioff and Weiss are the two showrunners who adapted George RR Martin’s books and made one of the world’s most popular TV series.

What will she say when she has that drink?

“I will say I wanted a better death.”

In the penultimate episode Cersei was crushed by falling masonry along with her brother-lover Jaime (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau). It was an underwhelming end, to put it politely.

“Obviously you dream of your death,” she says. “You could go in any way on that show. So I was kind of gutted. But I just think they couldn’t have pleased everyone. No matter what they did, I think there was going to be some big comedown from the climb.

I did like how she was alone (until the last moment) and her world was crumbling down on her but her whole role within the last season was so disapointing that ultimately it lost the impact it could have had :(

Oh my GOD. This season, and season 7, but not as bad, was utter TRASH. I can't believe people here were defending the nonsensical BIZARRE anti-canon ridiculous trash writing by two Hollywood hacks who only got their jobs thanks to their parents!!

IT GOES AGAINST THE CANON MORE THAN ONCE AND BADLY SO!! See, physics-defying scorpions being a thing.

THEY GOT THEIR JOBS DUE TO THEIR PARENTS' HOLLYWOOD CONNECTIONS. they are utter TRASH, as is GoT from season 6 on.
