TALK TO ME BOYYYYY! Bet I have you naked by the end of this song said Justin at the horrifically wrong time as he gripped Janet Jackson's boob right into the open on that fateful 2004 Super Bowl Halftime show. I'm quite surprised Rock Your Body only just missed Top 5 considering the history behind it, but it is a banger and was almost apart of Michael Jackson's 10th studio album Invincible before he passed it on and The Neptunes later gave it (and some more MJ-rejects) to JT's Justified. This was the third single from his debut album following Like I Love You and Cry Me A River (which FYI are still to come!) which gave Justin his third consecutive #2 peaking single out of three - four more songs would later add to Justin's almost-#1 collection. It also failed to build on Cry's #3 peak in the US however did manage #1 in Australia! :o Rock Your Body is about a guy who wants to get with a girl, a theme Justin has become quite used to over the years and sings about in a large portion of his singles :lol:

I do love "Give It To Me", though listening to it lyrically, it sounds like a song for Timbaland and his friends to diss a rival producer, which is quite random :lol:

And just making it into the Top 5 is Justin's debut single, Like I Love You. Released in October 2002 this was his first single following the breakup of *NSYNC earlier that year. *NSYNC funnily enough only released 3 studio albums (not including a Christmas album) in their 1995-2002 run, yet have also released 3 "Greatest Hits" albums since then. Like I Love You features hip hop duo Clipse, although I'm not entirely sure how the crediting of this single works? The album and the OCC refuse to credit the Hip Hop duo so I assume they just threw their vocals onto the single for the fun of it I guess. Also worth noting that everyone involved in the rate gave this 7 or above aside from just two people :lol: As much as I love this though I am very glad it's out at #5 leaving the absolutely perfect Top 4 as it is. *.*

crazy it "only" went to #11 in the US, why wasn't justin more popular in the US during the Justified era?

That's definitely his best track for me just edging ahead of CMAR.

 

I'm actually surprised my love is still in never knew that was considered among his best on here.

Also, earlier I made myself some shorter edits of "Rock Your Body" (4:27 cut to 3:21), "Señorita" (4:55 cut to 3:16 - short intro & the 'guys and ladies' bit cut out) and "Filthy" (4:54 cut to 3:25) - makes them all so much more enjoyable! "Filthy" I have absolutely rinsed, I'm kind of unsure as to what the fascination has been, but the edit has reignited my affection for it. I had probably just overplayed it but at the same time, I wonder, what is the fuss I saw in it in the first place?

 

...and now I've made myself a nice edit of "Say Something" (4:39 down to 3:48, much shorter intro & cutting the 'sometimes the greatest way of saying something is to say nothing at all' down from 3x to 2x on each occasion) - works a treat, will serve me well on repeat plays :wub: Probably my song of the year so far tbh.

My own personal favourite Justin Timberlake single out at a very respectable #4 :wub: Much like a few others I was surprised to see this so high, but I am by no means complaining at this making the Top 5! The better of the two JT x T.I. singles, My Love was the second single from FutureSex/LoveSounds and was widely succesful - giving Justin his second consecutive #1 in the US and giving him yet another #2 peaking single in the UK. My Love also went Top 20/10 across Europe and Australia/NZ, instantly becoming one of Justins bigger hits. My Love won JT a Best Rap/Sung Collaboration Grammy in 2007, and it also took awards for Best Choreography in a Video and contributed to give JT the Male Artist of the Year at the 2007 VMA's. I adore this and is a song I can easssily come back to whenever I feel like it and jam out to, although I must admit it was very close between this & Mirrors to be my 11 :P
