The Odyssey ship has become more steady this week drop just 4 places to Number 27.

Rather sad this song (since 1:45) is not a part of Odyssey! Very good one.

Better Man - thanks for the link. The song sound rather lovely - great potential. TT have made some very strange musical choices of late. Quite a few beautiful ballads appear to have been discarded for reasons unknown to me, and I guess many others.

Beautiful words.

I def agree, dont get why they are choosing the weaker songs over songs like this with huge potential.

I agree with you all. The song is beautiful. Is that Gary's voice on the recording?

Yes, I think it is , Milly, although it's difficult to pick up the vocals. Rob's comments suggest that he sang at least one verse. I'm therefore assuming that the vocals were shared.

Since Jason left their ability to choose the right song (These Days aside) has been truly dreadful!!

Interesting! Wonder what album that would have been recorded for?
If they had released the right song they could have had a chart hit, it's interesting how westlife have handled their current single it's done much better than expected in terms of longevity. I know they have the hype of a comeback behind them but they released a song that connects with fans and its connecting outside that too. I still think if take that released a strong ballad and put effort into the release they could at the least manage another top 40 hit and possibly much higher.

Sales for Odyssey have been reasonable, but nothing more and the album hasn't held up well compared to albums such as The Greatest Showman. Sales were front loaded, as tends to be the case with TT, but what differs from previously is their lack of wider appeal.

I completely concur - if they'd stayed true to their earlier style and released a strong ballad the album would have had greater longevity. Although they wouldn't have reached the giddy heights of BW or The Circus, I tend to think sales figures would have been higher than they currently are. TT have completely underestimated the power of the initial single release for the success of an album.

By the way does anyone know when Rob's album is due for release?

If they released a song that connected former people who bought their albums would invest. While the album has outsold wonderland and will go platiunum it's still 2 million less than there last greatest hits. If they had released a strong new single odyssey could have went double platinum. The lads are enjoying experimenting with music but I think they are forgetting what the fans want.

Unfortunately I've just deleted off my iPod quite a few Odyssey tracks, a new intro or updating the sound isn't enough for me.

I kept Everlasting out of the three new songs and 6 reworked versions which offer different takes.

There is only a select few of the songs i listen to as i stay with the originals.
