Saw them last night and I wonder if they played this - definitely not a full on dance song if so, more of an emo-dance bop.

I think its high time we started putting new Chainsmokers song threads not in the dance forum and in the pop forum instead. They haven't been dance for a while and it doesn't look like they are going back to dance music any time soon.

Yeah it’s pretty dull a la sick boy.. if not worse.

Yeah not too hyped for this cus it sounded pretty dull and bad poppy based on the live version but their other one Everybody Hates Me (ew) sounded soooo much better

We've been discussing this. For now Chainsmokers will remain in dance as that is the genre they are most associated with, but if their entire next album is barely dance at all like 'Sick Boy' we will reconsider.

 

Any more posts on this matter will be deleted as I don't want this to turn into yet another discussion thread on which genre forum best suits the song/artist.

this is really great, another catchy indie pop track BUT with a minute or so left it turns into some mad dance track - feels like a future bass drop with actual depth and noise. the drop is a MOMENT let me tell you (but it takes ages to happen)

I like it! I prefer Sick Boy but I'm really quite enjoying this new approach from them.

This isn't bad but the drop is a bit noisy, they're filling the gap TØP have left by taking ages with this new album nicely :lol:

Echoing this. If anything it’s worse than Sick Boy, the ‘drop’ is really not something I’m here for. At this point I’d be happy to hear a Closer copy ;) :P

 

On a much better topic, is there any news on when Twenty One Pilots are coming back to slay?

This is nothing on Sick Boy but it's pretty catchy and the drop at the end goes off, and I don't even think Drew sounds that bad on this

Not liking this new direction they're going in, this is just another below average single.

I have a feeling this direction may have just been for this 'EP' cus they have another one they've been playing at live shows called Everybody Hates Me and that's muchhh more dance-y and normal Chainsmokers.
