It's the character Drake played on Degrassi in his career as an actor before he went into music.
The fact that most people here seemed unaware of that just shows how it’s had little bearing on his UK success.

I repeat*: he broke through because of it

Why people then liked his beige music afterwards is beyond me

But then people also liked Westlife (but now laugh at them with the rest of us), sooo he isn't Westlife levels of awful tbh

but nobody will be laughing at Drake in ten years time - he's managed to have hits that span multiple genres over nearly a decade and he's widely known as a really nice guy so there's no denying his starpower and success, whether you like his music or not.

I don't get the popularity of the Drake song. I find it bland and forgettable. :/

can we not at this degrassi slander plz

And stop comparing Drake to Westlife, the former actually has good material

Westlife actually do have good songs so let's not hate them!
Drake is rubbish, so is Westlife but I'd choose the latter any day simply because I can't stand urban/rap music.
Shouldn’t we be using this thread to shade artists everyone hates? Like Jessie J?

Jessie J isn't relevant enough to get shaded anymore, just look at the iTunes chart 'success' she's been getting recently.

I.e. We don't need to shade her, the music buying public does that for us.
