I'm not a big fan of 'God's Plan' compared to some of his other work, but this really is the most pointless thread I've seen for a long time.

Renamed the topic - feel free to use it as an "artist bashing" thread if you wish but check the pointers I've added in post 1!
Really liked Amazing, Us against the world, Unbreakable and a few others. They had a lot of money backing them and the quality of songs proved that. Sadly they get knocked because of just how successful they were and people love to hate, especially boybands.

Seriously?

All I ever thought during the whole sorry episode is they had a few years where Louis Walsh knew that they could release ANYTHING and it'd do well regardless, so in the cheapest way cut corners with the end result being the most ultimate cheap tat. I don't see any "quality" with the majority of their output whatsoever.

Oh definitely towards the end but the first few albums had a lot out into them and they had big tours. It got tiresome in the last few years and it felt like they were just releasing a cover followed by an album for easy money. First 3-4 years though was different imo and they had some decent pop songs written for them although obviously not everyone's taste. I had a best mate that was a massive fan and stuck up for them a lot so maybe image bit defensive.

The Drake abuse is odd, he does well and his streaming is crazy but once again. He's not everyone's taste. I find his singles good but albums terrible but once again it's opinions.

Issue I have is that. All for constructive criticism towards artists but the nastiness that gets written by some is pointless and not needed.

I can't stand Jessie J for example but just don't listen to her or think about her....pretty simple.

World of our own and Bop Bop Baby are my favourite Westlife songs. Drakes only good song is ‘Hold on we’re Going Home’.

WHAAAT!!

Westlife have NO good songs

They are a cheap karaoke coverband with NO quality

Seems any hip hop track can go Top40 thanks to streaming. Clearly Drake has got a massive following in the UK, and will continue to.

They aren't a coverband though as manhy of their original tracks have been mentioned in this thread.

What I found interesting looking at the thread about difference in sales/official peaks is that not much more than a year ago, Drake's song with 21 Savage "Sneakin'" was a sales top 40 hit, but floundered on streaming and didn't even hit the top 75 officially. Feels so foreign to me that it's not the other way around! (also Sneakin' >>>> Fake Love smh)

This Timberlake guy is finally flopping, it feels like I have been waiting decades for it to happen.

Such a dreadful artist!

Timberlake smashing it, a real legend. His tour has sold out so loads more dates have been added. So big it's untrue.

JT performance was different class, he just put a few more dates on and they will sell in seconds. So incredible to see what he's doing in 2018. Wow.

THIS!!

Absolutely terrible.

Just male privilege that he is where he is.

Really enjoyable Brits. Rita to get a boost with Stormzy. JT showed just how great he is tonight and should get to no1.....brilliant performance. Everyone I watched with was amazed at how he is still so good. Legend is an understatement.
Why didn't Sam Smith perform Pray? Massive disappointment, could have been huge.

It’s funny though how you only come to this thread when he’s being discussed

Ed Sheeran is WAY more relevant and FAR bigger than Justin Whinealake. He will increase on Spotify. He's not a relic of the past, so won't just rise on itunes.
Timberlake really is having a great time at the moment. Tour is massive beyond belief...very proud. Talent has won this time.
