Shame 'Stop Me From Falling' didn't make the top 200 at all from its (lowly) NMF. I guess maybe it'll scrape the top 100 officially this week if it's lucky.

She should’ve just kept promoting Dancing.. could’ve had a long lasting top 100 hit. Might’ve gone top 40 too.

As always with Kylie’s singles they seem to go out of their way to screw it uo! Dancing could have easily gone Top 40 but they released the original and then the mixes on different weeks, didn’t get any TV promo until it had been out for 6 weeks and the physical version is released as part of the album bundle in 4 weeks - none of that makes sense! They have now moved on to single 2 and got it Apple/Spotify support which they should have done immediately for Dancing - such a hot mess.

I read Kylie's single was released 4 weeks earlier than planned due to it leaking, so had it never leaked it would have been out and getting promoted all around the same time.

Am I wrong in thinking that Kylie just isn’t a singles artist anymore? Her album will go #1 I’m sure and her tours will be successful, but I think singles chart success isn’t a thing she will be able to accomplish anymore. Similar to say Robbie Williams recently I suppose

robbie didn't get himself a hit thanks to promo, he did because it was a great song (and I'm not even a big fan), if something, the song was a hit despite the lack of radio and spotify support

kylie's also done cazillions of promo but the song is average and her label are clueless about spotify, but anyway does it really matter if dancing peaks at 38 or at 46???

anyway, 2 words: kylie forum ;)

i know he did but it was easily his best since Feel in 2002 and he had zero radio support, so it's a miracle it even charted
not sure about heart but r2 does not help having a hit single, r1 does

yes it does! just look at Hoseah Partsch and Bebe Rexha as recent examples.

Oh lord... Love My Life was a hit thanks to Heart, R2 and heavy promo across TV!

Radio 2 and Heart *do* have an affect on the singles chart but it's generally less frequent than Radio 1 and Capital. Play That Song and Love My Life are both great examples, and Dancing is only holding up decently on iTunes now because Heart have picked it up.

Indeed - Radio 2 has a much greater reach - particularly at breakfast with over 9.43 million listeners and Heart can be comparable to Radio 1 now that it has taken control of many (what were) regional unique stations, but it is important to stress that Radio 1 is more popular with those who are more likely to stream rather than buy so over time we've seen more and more MOR hits that appeal to a wider and generally older age group (e.g. Robbie Williams) doing better on iTunes as it continues to become abandoned by younger people in favour of streaming.
