Who are the most famous sports stars to come from your hometown?

 

From my local area we had Beryl Burton, who spent a lot of her life in our town and has plenty of memorials knocking about the place. Footballer Jonny Howson also went to the same primary school as me, a fact they mentioned at least once a week until he went to Norwich after which he was never spoken of again.

Not that many local sport stars to be honest in my area only:

 

2006 Commonwealth Cross Country Gold Medallist- Liam Killeen and some upcoming cricketer called Georgia Hennessy.

 

 

Not quite my hometown (we're too small to have anyone famous), but I was born in the same city as Lebron James. He's by all means a legend here, and his "rival" of sorts Stephen Curry was also born in the same city which is quite the coincidence.

From a bit further afield we've also had Aaron Lennon and of course the Brownlees B-)
