April 9, 20187 yr Why don't more artists sell signed cassettes? :kink: Because not every artist cares so much about chart positions or bleeding fans dry. I can only imagine how many of those cassettes will never get played and sit on a shelf for the next 10 years.

I'm delighted for her heading for number 1 but her chart performance in this era does feel somewhat artificial. That doesn't make any sense :D Why "old gay men" wouldn't play Kylie on Spotify as well or TGS for that matter as the soundtrack is cross-over phenomenon.
April 9, 20187 yr I'm still not 100% convinced that Kylie will be no 1. Greatest Showman did 12.7k last week streaming equivalent, assuming a similar amount this week, it takes it up to 24k. Assuming 4k/day sales for the next 4 days, it goes up to 40k. Kylie will do 2k streaming equivalent (max), and if it sells 2k/day for the next 4 days it takes it to around 43k. I think it's going to be close. Ah, but last week TGS was boosted by easter sales & a vinyl version, so I think it'll slip back to 35-40k this week.
April 9, 20187 yr Even if you took away all the preorders with the multiple formats, she'd still be on course for 20k+ this week which is around the same as Justin T, Camila etc As a 50 year old the odds really are stacked against her in terms of airplay and streaming, so it's not surprising that she needs to find different ways to boost sales. I imagine this will be the benchmark for future releases from "heritage" artists.

They have to do minimum runs of 4,000 I think........ she sold the 1st 4k and must have decided to do another run and added some signed ones. everyone re-issues, creates what their fans want...... hardly new..... plus all these artists paying Spotify to get top of their playlists etc Everyone does promo. If it makes kylie fans happy then that's good. no harm Also Golden number 5 on Apple Music streaming. So its getting some streaming sales. April 9, 20187 yr Her record company have been very astute in selling so many different versions of the album. (I’m not a fan oh her btw but this is becoming the norm). Only problem will be the second week position .
