Only lost Azerbaijan and Greece from the 10 I wanted through, so I am really happy with the results.

BUT WTF EUROPE, ALBANIA?! REALLY?!

This is literally me right now.

Belgium's staging let them down. Considering it was basically Hooverphonic produced I expected something classy but it was quite dull. :(

Not too bad a set of results. Sad to see Belgium out, but I was expecting it- on too early, average vocals, poor staging, too much competition from other female singers. Wish Switzerland had made it instead of Ireland. Delighted Armenia didn't make it.

I'm literally so delighted at those results. Oddly, it's now Switzerland I'm gutted about not making it through, the only change I'd make is Switzerland over Lithuania but the latter obviously connected with a lot of people. We both found it utterly dull here. I might have to re-watch to see what all the fuss was all about. We can't all like the same things

Great for Saara, we were all too paranoid right? Ireland going through though has absolutely made my Eurovision year! I found it so moving, just like I did the video.

Norway about to become favourite to win on Betfair. If he does win, I'm literally never watching any second of Eurovision ever again.

All of my big faves made it through so I'm pretty content with results! Saara smashed it out of the park and my first impressions of Toy and Fuego were especially good.

Ryan O'Shaughnessy provided the best moment of the night for me though. I knew the song already and enjoyed it but the performance was so beautifully understated. So pleased the imagery of the gay couple dancing was kept from the video. Never expected it to Q but am thrilled it did, a brilliant surprise.

Lithuania is 5th to win now  Crazy. Lovely song but christ. I can see it maybe like 12th.

Norway winning would be an absolute nadir in 62 years of Eurovision, utter utter embarrassment of a song.

BUT WTF EUROPE, ALBANIA?! REALLY?!

His vocal was so good!! Totally deserved to qualify. This is coming from someone who had it pegged as 43/43 before the studio version came out. Though at that point, I'd heard it once live from their final and the quality was poor.

I think that amount of volatility means that the odds have about as much idea as everyone else has, aka no idea at all!

True  It's like "oh this actually came across well shoot it up to 5th"

I'm so happy Saara got through after reading all of the doubters in this forum! I threw a vote her way and I hope the rest of the UK voters did to put her top of our televote. She was by far the best performer and vocalist tonight.

I'm a bit disappointed that Azerbaijan failed to qualify for the first time ever - they've sent some shite in the last five years that didn't deserve to qualify over "X My Heart". I also thought Macedonia, Croatia and Greece were good enough tonight too although the only finalist of the 10 that I really disliked was Albania so I don't know what else I would have chosen to DNQ.

I liked the sound of Portugal's and Spain's songs in the clips that they showed. Unfortunately I won't be able to watch the final live on Saturday so I'll have to watch their full performances online.

Croatia and Greece I thought were well performed, but Macedonia was diabolically bad - which is why I'm not fussed that it's out. Love the studio version, but that totally deserved to miss and I reckon it has a shot at beating Iceland to last now.
Just a thought - with Greece out, could Cyprus eat up the Greek diaspora vote now? :o another boost towards victory for them?

Incredibly likely, and with Azerbaijan and Armenia out too.

IRELAND 🇮🇪 so happy we got through, total surprise, hopefully we can get a few votes in the final.

Azerbaijan was the only song that failed that I liked. Finland and Cyprus were brilliant.

Israel and Czech Republic are very similar and because of that and no Greece I think Cyprus could get a few extra votes but them or Finland would be great winners but would prefer Finland out of the two songs.

Had to leave the house at 8:45, so my remaining feelings...

Bulgaria: I've always liked though never quite loved this song and while I enjoy the dark elements of it, the big issue they had to achieve was not making it feel too cold and clinical and they didn't quite master that for me. Comfortable qualifier and one of the most interesting songs of the semi though with one of the best instrumentals and productions as a whole. Oh, and Zhana is absolutely NOT singing that last note just for the record and it's laughably obvious.

FYR Macedonia: It all felt a bit frantic unfortunately and her vocals felt a bit shaky. The entry has so much potential but I always feared, like Dance Alone, it would struggle to translate on stage and I was right. I think the song did actually click with me for the first time but I can acknowledge it's just... not going through.

Croatia: Scott summed it up right, she really selled the shit out of a very average song. But... it still is an average song regardless and I did get bored after about 2 minutes because the song just doesn't go ANYWHERE. But, I enjoyed it more than I expected to because of Franka herself, who is a STUNNER.

Austria: I really think this has to qualify! The fears I'd seen pre-rehearsals were that he would struggle to sell himself as a frontman rather than a backing vocallist but it felt very slick and he commanded the stage very well on his own, and the addition of the gospel singers on the bridge at the end were a nice touch. A classy entry and vocally perfect.

Greece: I've always found this song very hard to warm to, I can never decide if I like it or not but I have to say, I think she did a really good job with it. The last 30-40 seconds really clicked in particular and I think they did a good job at transferring something so atmospheric and 'studio friendly' to a good live job. Should be enough to qualify, I think.

Finland: Oh, she's made for this, isn't she? She could sell the shit out of an average song so you best believe she's gone hell for leather on a really strong song. She's got to have done enough to make it with that, it was miles better than the National Final version and felt much slicker. The final moment of the fire blaze could've been stronger, is my only critique, but I'm relieved to see her deliver flawless vocals and a really balls to the wall performance which translated well, I feel.

Armenia: In terms of big male vocallists, I feel he's exercised his in the best way in comparison to Eugent Bushpepa who felt shouty. Sevak's delivered a lot more passion and the track itself is a real powerful moment. Not a favourite of mine but after that, I wouldn't begrudge it a qualification spot at all as he's earnt it. I don't see that being the track to break their streak.

Switzerland: In a night where so many of the underdogs have really sold their shit out of their entries, Zibbz have to really be at the top of that. They've turned a 'never getting past 15th place' entry into a proper moment and coming before Ireland, that might really stand out. She was note perfect, sold it with a real swagger and grit and while I'm not sure if it'll end up in my top 10 of the semi yet, it's definitely Switzerland's best effort in a long while (as a whole package at least, as I didn't think Apollo came across great on stage).

Ireland: Another one that's been hugely elevated by the stage performance... that really could make it? Ireland are notoriously poor at staging but they made SUCH a wise and actually creative decision to make the performance about the artist. The audience cheer when the two guys were illuminated was quite a goosebumps moment. But the song still isn't good enough for me, when push comes to shove, though I'm making my rankings considering EVERYTHING so it's ahead of songs with the same ranking that I prefer sonically.

Cyprus: I have no words, it's 8:15am when I'm watching this and by all means I should be shattered and she just shot ALL THE LIFE I needed in my life into me. The song was already my #1 but they've staged this perfectly and she is an absolute STAR. The hairography, the huge audience cheers in the section that comes before the proper breakdown, the way she works it solo and the way you don't look at anyone else even when she ISN'T solo. Please, please win.

01 Cyprus / 11/10

11 Armenia / 7/10

12 Azerbaijan / 7/10

16 Belgium / 6.5/10

17 Croatia / 5/10

18 Iceland / 2/10

19 Albania / 2/10

Put 'Mall' to the side and I am absolutely DELIGHTED with these results. And, I'm happy for Ireland too, far from a favourite of mine but made for a really great shocker at the end when I was expecting Greece! I predicted 8/10 myself with Greece and Armenia making it instead of Ireland and Albania.

This makes me so happy to watch, the Fuego fever is going through the roof right now and I couldn't be more happy <3.
