Ireland going through though has absolutely made my Eurovision year! I found it so moving, just like I did the video.

I've been in tears watching the Irish video. Very moving.

Everyone was absolutely CRAZY over Eleni in the arena. I'm sure it came across like that on TV but the Cyprus hype here is insane.

All aboard for Nicosia '19!

Still perplexed at how La La Love did so poorly if this does win though.

I mean, it's no secret how much I adore La La Love, but it's the stage performance that has set Cyprus alight. The stage performance of books for Ivi was... a choice. And her vocals weren't as strong either. Compare the choreography of the two and one is very visibly more of a star.
Fuego seems to just have EVERYTHING, I'm still worried about Rybak but Fuego is surely going to catch the casual viewer immensely as a brilliant modern pop song performed well, much like Euphoria and Heroes did. La La Love was an absolute banger as a song but as Rob said it didn't really hit gold with the whole package whereas this does.

I mean these things go in cycles so after '1944' and 'Amar Pelos Dois', it really is time for just a stomping uptempo to take it. All the big uptempo numbers last night made it (Czech, Israel, Finland, Cyprus) so it's a good sign for lovers of fast food music *.*

Rybak certainly does not deserve the win this year when we have such wonderful songs from Cyprus, Finland and Ireland in the final.

I cant see Rybak winning, i feel everything is pointing to a win for Cyrpus, it is long overdue for them and i think like Portugal last year this is finally their time.

Ban the juries next year please.

Albania would never without juries BIG help. 😣

I think this is a realistic ordering of the songs as well (for televotes), what do you lot think?

Edited by Midge

Cyprus and Israel smashing through a million views like that

Yes! Easily clear of the rest - surely the top 2 (at least on the televote).

Lithuania doing crazily well. I thought it was a cute song from the first listen, and that it could probably qualify, but I wouldn't have expected it to do this well and be a top five contender :o

I think Estonia can be ruled out of contention, it really wasn't quite the 'wow' moment I expected it to be.

Lithuania is really the only ballad that stands a chance of doing well this year so I’m not surprised. I said to Adam last night, if it qualified then I thought top 10 was sewn up.
Is it bad that I'm hoping that Azerbaijan and Armenia were 11th & 12th within a handful of points of 9th & 10th place - thus likely costing one another a place in the final?
