I am gutted for Senegal, I was willing them on to score the goal that they needed to go through. Japan are so lucky!

 

 

England will better off winning Group G now as Japan would be the easier fixture.

First time in 36 years there will be no African side in the second round. It was basically a standstill with Japan just passing to each other.

Such a shame for Senegal, really thought of all African teams, they'd be the one to break the mould </3 You could see how much they were trying as well.

 

Looks like a win would be the best outcome for us tonight, though hard to tell as both teams weren't especially at their best.

Japan yes would be the easiest game for England although look what happened two years ago.......

Real shame for Senegal but I'm stoked that Japan are through, even if they didn't play all that well in their last game they more than made up for it in their first two. I'll be really conflicted if England are matched against them.

Absolutely dreadful result :( . Senegal, who actually tried to score, go out to Japan who were dreadful all match and just aimlessly kicked the ball about for the last few minutes in the match. Hopefully Japan will get beaten in their next match. What a sh*t attitude!

 

Addressing this, I think that was actually their smartest play. Any goal against them would have sent them out, it's like Japan were playing against Senegal across games, with Senegal on the impetus to score, Japan not needing to score, and Poland hitting them on a counter would have been disastrous. Risking yellow cards would have nullified what was their eventual advantage as well.

 

Yes they chose to put half of it out of their control, but how's that different from when one team is depending on another for a result? I don't think it was a shit attitude, it was pragmatic with the rules in front of them.
