October 29, 200618 yr I like how they didn't just dwell on her death and made it depressing to watch like they do with other shows *cough*Eastenders*cough*, at least it ended on a high-note, (sort of) with them all having a laugh :)
October 29, 200618 yr Very good stuff. Very funny and very poignant. The show has always done stuff like that very well. It's definitely one the best programmes there has ever been on British TV.
October 29, 200618 yr NANA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What have they done   EDIT: She Lived  Edit:  Awwwwww! It was well sad, but hilarious too, Nanas last words were 'Trevor McDonald'
October 29, 200618 yr Awwwwww! It was well sad, but hilarious too, Nanas last words were 'Trevor McDonald'  That Cheered me up when i found out that :kink: http://www.cib.uk.com/artman/uploads/sir_trevor_mcdonald_small.jpg
October 29, 200618 yr Awwwwww! It was well sad, but hilarious too, Nanas last words were 'Trevor McDonald'  Good stuff. It's a shame they've lost Nana really, she was one of the best characters, and Liz Smith is excellent but I still hope we see more of it.
October 29, 200618 yr Author it became obvious by half way through that nana was going to die..... pity i too found it rather .... moving... a-hem. started well, very well, the scene with the colostomy bag was hilarious!, but it tended to lose its way as nanas death was looming. i dont think there will be any more.... i dont think theres enough mileage in it (like fawlty towers, young ones ... they knew when to stop... ) the royle family was utterly brilliant, lets hope they leave it there and not try to resurrect it. leave it there....
October 29, 200618 yr Author It's definitely one the best programmes there has ever been on British TV. spot on m8.
October 29, 200618 yr Yeah. Made me laugh, made me cry. Very, very good stuff. It would be such a waste if they didnt do more.
October 29, 200618 yr Author Yeah. Made me laugh, made me cry. which is why its so bloody good..... and comedy that can do that is first class.
October 29, 200618 yr I actually CRIED at that. Cried? I bloody balled my eyes out!!! OMG I loved Nana so much. IMO they need to end it there, it won't be the same without her. :(

Well actually, I think this is one case where the "it was great let's leave it there" line didn't work. I thought the third series of The Royle Family was pretty poor compared to how it was when it started out. This one off special was much better. But I agree if they never do any more after this it'll be a great way to close it.
October 29, 200618 yr It started off ok, got very grim towards the end though. And too much singing. I didn't like the use of music throughout the program, they never used to do that. It weren't bad though. A bit weird at times.
October 29, 200618 yr I don't know how anyone can cry over a tv program  :o Its not as if the actress that plays the part has died merely a character in a tv series etc
