Can’t believe Stuart shot himself either. It’s made those great episodes earlier in the month feel hollow in hindsight. I totally thought it was getting excited by then but now it’s gone into awful tv mode again.

Danny Dyer does his best Lennie from Of Mice and Men impression and Sonia brings back Abi's post-it note-gate. The joy.

Fairly boring week all round, far far to much of the Carters.

Why is Linda Henry still in this? She isn’t utilised as all and has more to give than just being Mick Carter’s fan club.

I must admit this has got a bit tiresome lately, I just think the Carters are dragging the show down (Mick in jail story is just dragging), they are in it every week, I just wish they had less airtime. Its about time they move on, and take Max Branning with them. The show just needs a new family I think to inject more life into it.

Okay so the dialogue between Mel and Sharon in the club was fantastic.

 

"...and as sour faced as she is, she doesn't look like she's grieving"

 

"Sharon's married to Phil; she doesn't do romance"

 

"careful, we've been talking longer than she's been married"

Last night's episode was pitiful. What was that fight about at the end?

I only hate the Carter story atm. It’s awful.

 

I mean I’m rooting for Linda giving up on Mick, like she should have done 14 months ago when he was ‘in love’ with Whitney. But it won’t last and it’s just a plot device for when Mick is proved innocent, he can mope about how his wife should have stuck by him. Why should she though? He always keeps secrets from her and always chooses the stupid thing to do.

 

I wish there was some way it could turn out he really did it but no. Stuart shooting himself barely makes any sense.

I actually thought Tuesday's episode was really good. Always liked Mel and Hunter as characters and now they actually have something of purpose to do now that Ray is on the scene, who I find an intriguing character unlike the cartoons Stuart and Aidan were/are. Sharon and Keanu's affair is so much more character driven than anything Sharon has been involved in since her 2012 return; the feelings and anxieties they share feel genuine and I can share sympathy with both of them.

 

I also really liked the scene, not necessarily because of its contents, where Jagger and his mate were talking, then Ray walked into scene and shared a scene with what's-his-face, then they walked passed Shirley who was in her own thoughts having a cig outside The Vic. It just felt like you were actually watching life happening rather than here's one scene with a group of characters, now we're switching to a new scene, new environment, with a different group of characters.

I really hope the Keanu storyline is the end of Sharon and Phil forever.

I can't see how Sharon and Phil can come back from this. I don't see Sheanu lasting but it has shown Sharon what it feels like to be genuinely wanted and treated well, as well as showing her how she's changed whilst being with Phil. The Sharon of old wouldn't stand by Phil's dodgy dealings and nasty behaviour.

 

Hoping Kate Oates can continue Sharon on this journey and make her a strong character again.

Ya shaeon needs to be away from Phil and get her feistyness back.
