It's not cool to be petty but I'm going to do it anyway :P

I was reading with mild interest online about Nick Grimshaw's last show for Radio One breakfast show today.

He was asked about X Factor and said he "was excited" by the new panel. <_<

Wasn't he the one when there was all that discussion six years ago about Robbie no longer being a suitable artist for Radio One say that he "couldn't name a single RW song"?

Odd then that he feels able to make a judgement on his brand new judging skills when he has no idea of his 28 year back catalogue.

He got shafted to the Drivetime slot , I am sure he will find a really good excuse to justify why he was moved, something to do with ratings I believe , I bet he wil appear as a guest on the XF Extra show :P

So who can we guess Robbie and Ayda will have as guest judges?

I wonder if Ayda dare ask Adele - and would she do it? :o

I wonder if Robbie would ask GB? Return the favour?

He knows a lot of people. I think he is more likely to surprise with his choice.

It would be even funnier if he presented the XF Xtra show.

Yes, that would be an interesting one, had not thought of that

It will tell you how little I can remember about the XF, Adele appeared on it in 2015 , I did not know that so it is possible she might do it for Ayda , & when it comes to Robbie, I have no idea , it has to be someone people will know pretty well in the UK

I doubt this is true , or is it :o

But Simon and Robbie will also allow their groups to get pretty close and personal by letting them stay in their own houses.

I'm not sure about letting them stay but I could imagine it being filmed there.

He said on Upfront he didn't want to get close to the acts until after Judges Houses because he would feel so guilty about turning them down. Allowing people to stay in your house - how could you not form some kind of a bond? It would make sense to film them there though.

Opening night should be a big one this year for XF, everyone will be interested to see how Robbie does as a judge, I think with his experience as a performer he will be brilliant

It will be interesting to see what the general public make of it. But I'm not fretting over it.

Most people think X Factor is well past its sell by date anyway (including me) so I almost feel like Robbie/Ayda have nothing to lose.

If it bombs - well they gave it a go and they move on. If it succeeds, then their being as good as we said they were, has helped revive a few ratings.

I don't think it will make one bit of difference to his music career. Positive or negative. It's just a temporary distraction. A few months out of 28 years.

Yep, I totally agree ... :P

it may hook new opportunities for Ayda in Britain

Yes - it will definitely raise Ayda's profile. :) That's the idea though isn't it?

If it weren't for Ayda I think there is no way RW would have done it. But that's OK - they're going to give a go and see what happens. I think they're going to make a success of it. It's quite exciting to find out if that's true or not. Robbie is always at his best when he's up against it. B-)

Ayda would be well suited to presenting some kind of chat show. She's bright enough for it. She'd be a match for anyone. Maybe something like that will come out of XF. Time will tell. :)

The XF Factor is shown on TV3 here, they have the new trailer for the XF on this past week & it has the theme tune to Robbie's Millennium in the ad , a slowed down version , the UK one is different

She listens to him talking of his tendency to mess things up and disagrees. ‘I’ve always thought Rob would be amazing at this gig.

'He undersells himself. He doesn’t totally understand how good he is. I’ve always had complete confidence in him.’

Me too! B-)

The thing about Robbie Williams is you’re never quite sure which Robbie you’re going to get – the out-and-out star or the Robbie-with-demons.

There’s also the fear that if he tries too hard to be nice to everyone the show will be dull.

He’s candid about not being entirely sure how he should play this new role, revealing that he ‘tried to do the mean judge thing’ at the start – and got himself in a right pickle.

Robbie Williams claims he's taking a big risk by putting himself on mainstream television each week while knowing he can unintentionally put his foot in it

‘I said something I thought would be funny, but instead everyone went “Oooohhh”,’ he says, sucking in his breath.’ Ayda agrees it was appalling.

‘I said to him, “Robert Peter Williams. Where did that come from? You’re not that person!”’ Robbie cringes a little, adding, ‘Then the make-up artist said, “Why did you say that?” And I got so panicked I went upstairs and threw up.’ :o

As Gary Barlow said it will be interesting to see how they edit the show B-)

I always think the XF is a show you cannot take too seriously but some do -_-

The pair not long ago disclosed that they have been working on a stage musical of David's youngsters reserve The Boy within the Dress
