October 31, 200618 yr Some good choices there mate! ^_^ After reading your list, the first disk I searched was Paul Johnson - Get Get Down :D It was a long time since I didn't hear this track (and now it's back in my box, and I might use it inside a setlist  ). Can't wait to see the top 20 B) xox.
November 1, 200618 yr Author Here comes the second part (and sincere apologies for the iffy font and colour settings there!...) 20 Basement Jaxx - Red Alert Still their finest track to date, such an original track. If only they could repeat the glory days of 1999... 19 Barbara Tucker - Everybody Dance (The Horn Song) Such an under-rated record is this, and expect to see much more from this fine, fine lady... 18 Black Magic - Freedom (Make It Funky) Another 'ooh whats this?' track. Big room style handbag piano house on Positiva. 17 Kym Sims - Too Blind To See It This one goes waaa-a-a-a-a-a-y back... all the way to 1991 infact! Proper diva-tastic! 16 DJ Misjah & DJ Tim - Access Does anyone remember THIS??? The greatest hard-dance record EVER! Period. 15 Barbara Tucker & Darryl D'Bonneau - Stop Playing With My Mind Gos knows how many times I played this at the time, such a wicked vocal houser is this. Just brilliant! 14 Agnelli & Nelson - Everyday The only trance track to grace this top 30. Not sure what makes this stand out from the rest but the breakdown just gives me that rush down the spine, everytime. 13 Bedrock FT Kyo - For What You Dream Of Made (partially) famous from the Trainspotting film. 10-odd minutes of epic-produdction and amazing vocals. 12 House of Glass - Playing With My Mind No one will know this (got a TINY release on Azuli and never charted) but it's got such a great guitar riff and wicked vocal and I've loved this for many years. 11 Robin S - Show Me Love Zero inroduction required here...
November 6, 200618 yr Author All you're feedback on my 20 - 11 list was warmly appreciated (ahem!). For anyone interested... here is the remainder... c'mon! Gimme some feedback! 10 Future Force - What You Want (AM:PM 1996) Another out-in-the-sticks anthem! AM:PM in their prime were owned by Simon Dunmore - who is the big cheese at hughely successful Defected Records - and it's easy to see why with this euphoric piano house anthem! 09 Barbara Tucker - I Get Lifed (Positiva 1994) She is here AGAIN!!! For me, this track is just pure escapism - so full of hope and optimism - and a fantastic vocal house anthem! I love it! 08 Denise Lopez - Don't You Wanna Be Mine (Clivilles + Cole Mix) (A+M USA 1990) Does anyone know this?? Unless you know you're onioins, probably not. Denise was a run-of-the-mill Taylor Dane style diva from the states, who never managed a career of such in the UK, except Sasha apparently hammered this amazing old-skool anthem oeath and is now a stone-cold CLASSIC! 07 Livin' Joy - Don't Stop Movin' (MCA 1996) And just to prove I'm no snob... here lies the single greatest example of 90s euro-house! Tameka Starr was the one that began my obsession with the dance diva (and may be partly to blame for my sexual orientation - but $h!t happens...). I happen to love all 5 of their hit singles during the mid-90s, each one getting a dusting and playing! Proper good times! 06 Degrees of Motion - Do You Want It Right Now (FFRR 1992) Others may be more familair when it was later released as the vocal version of Gat Decor 'Passion', which was a top ten hit in 1996... and remains a top, top choon. But stick to this for the real deal! That vocal, that piano - everything about this track reminds me of just how a straight-forward vocal and piano can potentially be! 05 Sandy B - Make The World Go Round (Champion 1996, 1997, 1998, 2004, 2006.... you get the picture!) When we are all wasting away in our graves, this will still be getting spun religiously - take this fact as you like! Very few records may deserve the 'classic' tag - but this surely belongs to that top end of all dance anthems. This has to be Deep Dish's ultimate moment! 04 Clivilles + Cole - A Deeper Love (Columbia 1992) Otherwise known as C+C Music Factory - they were responsible for many transatlantic club and chart hits during the early 90s, but this 12-minute epic gospel stomper tops the lot! 03 Degrees of Motion - Shine On (FFRR 1992 and 1994) Words fail me to describe the feeling when the gospel chants towards the end of this track come through. This is nothing short of a wonderful record and I long to be on a podium when this comes on! 02 Pulse Ft Antoinette Roberson - The Lover That You Are (FFRR 1996) Some regard this as the most bootlegged acapella of all time... it's not difficult to see why. No one really knows who she was, and this is the only house track I recall Ms Roberson gracing her knock-out vocals on. Produed and written by David Morales, and is only the second greatest house record of all time... so what IS the greatest??? 01 Barbara Tucker - Beautiful People (Positiva 1994) AHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Oh YES!! She just HAD tobe on the top of the list eh?? Nothing more or less can be said about this record! I could quite easily rant on and give a million plus reasons why it's my fave track of all time, but I won't bore you. Instead, track it down and give it a whirl one day...
November 9, 200618 yr Here comes the second part (and sincere apologies for the iffy font and colour settings there!...) Hiya Scott. Love the list. 20 Basement Jaxx - Red Alert Still their finest track to date, such an original track. If only they could repeat the glory days of 1999... agree with you there, easily one of their best along with Jus 1 Kiss 19 Barbara Tucker - Everybody Dance (The Horn Song) Such an under-rated record is this, and expect to see much more from this fine, fine lady... another awesome choice, this is a wicked party tune 18 Black Magic - Freedom (Make It Funky) Another 'ooh whats this?' track. Big room style handbag piano house on Positiva. 17 Kym Sims - Too Blind To See It This one goes waaa-a-a-a-a-a-y back... all the way to 1991 infact! Proper diva-tastic! god i love this too, classeeeekkkk!!!! Just brilliant! one of the best house records in the universe!!! the riff on this is filled with funk. full intention really do the biz! 14 Agnelli & Nelson - Everyday The only trance track to grace this top 30. Not sure what makes this stand out from the rest but the breakdown just gives me that rush down the spine, everytime. i used to be mad for trance not so much of it around now but this is one that truly standouts!! hairs on the back of your neck tuneage!! 13 Bedrock FT Kyo - For What You Dream Of Made (partially) famous from the Trainspotting film. 10-odd minutes of epic-produdction and amazing vocals. and the list keeps on getting better!!!! awesome techno classic 12 House of Glass - Playing With My Mind No one will know this (got a TINY release on Azuli and never charted) but it's got such a great guitar riff and wicked vocal and I've loved this for many years. who doesnt remember this???!!!! had this on clubbers guide to 1999 (which might i add is one of the best dance comps EVER!!) one of my favourite tunes on the album 11 Robin S - Show Me Love Zero inroduction required here... CHOON!!!!
November 10, 200618 yr Here comes the second part (and sincere apologies for the iffy font and colour settings there!...) 16 DJ Misjah & DJ Tim - Access Does anyone remember THIS??? The greatest hard-dance record EVER! Period. 13 Bedrock FT Kyo - For What You Dream Of Made (partially) famous from the Trainspotting film. 10-odd minutes of epic-produdction and amazing vocals. [ 'Access' was, and still remains, one of the finest EVER dance anthems.... and Misjah is a good mate of mine ;) ... he still does occasional stuff in his (amazing) studio in Amsterdam... this song is surely ripe for an update.... And Bedrock - FANTASTIC. Thank God someone else on these threads remembers DECENT dance music  Two vital ones you've missed which would've been your genre, I'd have thought - Junior Vasquez's 'Get Your Hands Off My Man' and Alcatraz's seminal classic 'Give Me Love' - what a GREAT single this was..... Edited November 10, 200618 yr by russt68
November 10, 200618 yr Author Alcatraz would certainly feature if this chart was extended! Jnr Vaquez on the other hand.... EUGH! But he did make some great mixes in his time - didn't he have fling with Danny Tenaglia once upon a time?? Two fat middle-aged men... lovely :puke2:
November 11, 200618 yr I don't know about Vasquez and Tenaglia.... hehe... not a nice thought. I loved Get Your Hands Off My Man, and there were some great Tenaglia singles in the 90s, too... I have the album somewhere, need to dig it out. The bass on the Alcatraz single.... incredible. Going back to your charts - I wonder whatever happened to Bassheads? They released some incredible singles in their short time.
