27 years ago, Dannii releasedher debut album Love and Kisses. Her style was different from Kylie and the press in large enjoyed comparing both sisters and also their music styles. Much of Dannii's early work is forgotten as to her credit, i think she improved with each album.

With her debut, what is the best single.

This album was so of its era! It’s not aged very well but I still love listening to it from time to time. Would have to be ‘Love & Kisses’ for me.
It was never good for me and time hasn't helped, this is it was the first Dannii song I liked and the first time I bought a Dannii single.

I voted Jump To The Beat, none of the songs are memorable and i do agree age certainly has not been in any way kind to them either.

I never took much notice of Dannii's music until the Neon Nights era and that opened my interest in previous releases.

Disremembrance, All I Wanna Do and This Is It were the 3 songs i discovered and enjoyed.

Her first album was a bit amateur in my opinion. I don’t really like her voice. I started to like her more after hearing this is it!
The album is very much of its time - twee pop tunes and terrible production! However I love it for what it is and thought it was amazing at the time it was released

The Girl era deserved the success of the Love and Kisses era based on quality of the music.

Looking back on it, Girl was an undeserved flop.

I remember Success being voted worst song of the year by Smash Hits readers. People kind of enjoyed hating her music back then, even though I loved most singles of that album.

I have a soft spot for 'Love and Kisses', as I remember when it was released. It's a catchy little number, but definitely of its time.

'Jump to the Beat' was an inspired cover though. It really suits Dannii's voice and the orchestration is noticeably different from the original, so it's a worthwhile interpretation. The updated urban sound still sounds good to me.

Success and I Dont Wanna Take This Pain are the two i like the least here.

Considering how weak the material is, she was lucky to have the success she did with the album and singles.

That said, she paid the price with the Girl era.

I don't really know why girl flopped so badly, do we know ul sales for the album? It's like her greatest hits album I really did think it would have done way better than it did.

I actually picked up the deluxe edition reissue of ‘Love & Kisses’ album for my collection today - can’t imagine it gets many weekly sales now

Eternal (WEA imprint) were horrible at promoting albums - they didn’t manage to make a success of Gina G’s after 3 Top 10s or Katrina & the Waves after they won Eurovision.

‘Girl’ could have easily been a decent sized hit after the success of AIWD and EIW but they literally just shoved the album out with not much promo/backing and just hoped it would sell.

I saw Dannii on tour after the album flopped - ‘Its Amazing’ was such a moment live and I still love the song now.
