Both X (11 years old) and Aphrodite (8 years old) are quality albums from Kylie.

It could be argued that each album has a strong and weak side.

From the 2 albums, which overall do you prefer?

As usual, please Vote and leave some comments.

I love so much of what came out of the 'X' era.

Sure, there are some weak tracks on the album ('Cosmic', 'All I See'). It also feels fairly schizophrenic at times, and the lead single didn't convey the style of the album.

But I always love Kylie in an experimental phase. 'X' was a celebration of Kylie's creativity and versatility as a recording artist. And some of the leaked tracks that followed are fantastic.

I consider 'White Diamond' part of that era, which is one of my favourite Kylie ballads. And I'm sure she performed 'Flower' on the tour too - another gem.

'Aphrodite', on the other hand, was too predictable for me to love quite as much. It does have the better cover art though

I would have the same sentiments on the album. X when its strong is fantastic but there are a few duff tracks that let the album down.

Aphrodite works from a continuity aspect, the sounds is very similar throughout and gives the album a very complete sound.

All The Lovers is one the strongest tracks Kylie has ever recorded and its simply divine, no other track on Aphrodite comes close.

Tough one but went with X as it features 2 of my all time favourite Kylie songs (The One & In My Arms).

I love Aphrodite and it served its purpose of being accessible for the general public to be successful.

This is hard. The highs on X are higher and I look back on that era as a whole more fondly, but Aphrodite as a complete album works a lot better.

My sentiment exactly though I love the X Tour more than the Aphrodite tour.

Aphrodite wins my vote by a slight margin, as the tour was mentioned i felt the Aphrodite tour was stronger too.

This aside, the album is just more in theme throughout and has the same feel and pace from start to finish.

X when it is strong (Like A Drug, Wow, The One, In My Arms) it is strong but it is let down overall by songs such as Heart Beat Rock, Nu-Di-Ty and Speakerphone.

The artwork on Aphrodite is also more supreme than X, but, both are albums i rank in the high side of Kylie;s studio albums.

Hard to believe aphrodite is 8 years old.like others have said x has some great tracks and some bad ones, sometimes it's like 2 mini albums put together that don't sound the same. Aphrodite is more consistent in sound from start to finish but lacks stand out single potential apart from all the lovers. Overall I find Aphrodite better plus it gave kylie another number 1.
Definitely Aphrodite for me. Some good songs on x but so varied and not very consistent. I hated speakerphone and a few other tracks!
X is one of her most missed opportunities, if the right songs were selected for the album it would have been more consistent and also if the singles were better picked the album would have easily gone double platinum. X was one of her strongest albums for single choices.

I vote for Aphrodite.

It coulda been so different for X if the fans had chosen which demos made the final tracklist ! As it stands, the highs are so high...but the low points are songs that I really just don't want to hear.

Aphrodite is even from start to finish.....if a leeeetle bit samey.

X had the potential to be her greatest album had the strong elements stayed consistent from start to finish.
X for me, it’s what really cemented my love for Kylie, before that album I wasn’t that interested in her music in general.
I sometimes woder why some of the long term fans have stopped investing in a kylie album.Outside the decline in the general market if u take aphrodite as an example a third of the people who bought it haven't invested in golden.Take out casual buyers it would also show a decline, I know illegal access to music doesn't help either.
I think maybe most of the fans have been there all along, but the bulk of her previous sturdy sales are casual buys and she's not exactly prominent in the mainstream anymore.
I would have thought she have a higher percentage of long term fans who have stayed with her, concert wise they seem too but not with album and single sales.
