So far this is a billion times better than season 2. I'm really enjoying season 3. I think the storyline is fun although it can easily cross the line and become ridiculous. I hope they stay on the right side of the line for me.

I’d say they’ve crossed the line and then some. Everything about Season 3 is completely absurd... but it’s strangely enjoyable!

I think the problem with Season 2 is that it came across like the show was taking itself too seriously - but now it’s like they’re fully embracing the craziness.

I actually hate how downhill this has gotten, season one was so promising as well :(

They are sleeping on Cheryl and Toni so SO much like they could be an incredible pairing if only they got more screen time. I'm so sick of this gargoyle king shite and the Hiram Lodge stuff as well... Archie going to prison and everything about his story arc there was ridiculous. I keep watching out of habit though.

Bet the farm is in Greendale.

Last week and this week's episode were soooo bad again. Season 2 badness. I want to pull the plug on this but my boyfriend keeps wanting us to watch together. And I'm pretty sure the only reason why he wants to watch at all is because he has a major crush on KJ Apa.

Well it’s a good thing production isn’t bleaching KJ’s hair this time lol. It won’t end up like Ariana’s

...and then they dyed it again

This is truly garbage but I keep watching to find out answers, PLL teas.

In all seriousness I'm not actually enjoying watching Riverdale anymore, everything is far fetched, plot holes and it's honestly like they write possible storylines down on a piece of paper and close their eyes and pick one.

I'm losing my patience with it too. I'm finding Riverdale's overall absurdity to have become increasingly more annoying/stupid in recent episodes. I legit feel like I lose brain cells when I watch it, yet I feel like I've come this far and need to see it through... even though I'm not at all convinced there'll be a worthwhile pay off to this dedication. :')

I'm finding it hard to accept certain plot lines and character behaviours as ringing true in the slightest. Don't get me wrong... I'm all for an insane story line, I don't require TV shows to be anywhere near being 100% realistic. I like when TV provides escapism. It's just there's elements of Riverdale that are just so unbelievable that it affects potential enjoyment I could have. For instance, the speakeasy setting. It's ludicrous in the worst way! The way the kids behave when they're there is wholly unrealistic, and I just can't conceive a bunch of 17(?) year olds from a local high school finding it to be an appealing place to hang out regularly. The writers seemed to forget in the most recent episode that it's supposed to be alcohol free too (Archie got drunk on shots, while being served by his classmate Reggie. A minor serving alcohol to another minor... #Riverdalelogic:')

It’s more that they try to fit in too many plot lines that seem to overpower one another at every given moment, and the ones that do end up top priority get overblown, and it makes it look like they’re taking themselves too seriously. The past episode only further exacerbates these problems. This is the first time I’ve seen Josie in a prominent role in MONTHS, and Kevin seems to be MIA in a time when he’s probably needed the most - it would have been good for both his character development and Betty’s. Even Cheryl is taking a backseat, and she’s had great development in the past. And while Archie losing his innocence seems like a good character arc (with who knows what he’s gone through being the catalyst), the whole Archie vs. Hiram thing seems to have gone too long and then skids to a halt without warning. It’s too much to take in all at once.

In an ironic twist, Lee may be onto something with that joke - it’s like PLL, there’s just no Cody Christian to distract me. I have All-American for that.

Another 3 week wait now :drama: but I was really glad that the spotlight was on Josie, Kevin/Moose and Cheryl/Toni more tonight.

WHY did Moose have to leave?

  • 2 weeks later...
Cody Kearsley (the dude who plays Moose) is in a new Netflix show so it’s likely due to that, but it’s not like Moose is even a main character so I don’t understand why that character had to take an extended leave

Luke Perry who plays Fred has suffered a stroke and is currently in hospital; apparently just day(s) after they'd been filming too. Hopefully he'll be okay. :(
