Posted September 3, 20186 yr Dexton's Top 40 (04/09/2018) (Week 69) RE87rQkXdNw Nine new entries to the singles chart this week and four to the albums, but we have an entirely stagnant Top 4! :o Marshmello & Bastille rack up a third consecutive week on top with Happier, whilst Benny Blanco's Eastside featuring Khalid & Halsey spend a fifth week in the Top 3. Ariana Grande's Breathin' and Calvin Harris & Sam Smith's Promises featuring Jessie Reyez finish off the Top 4 - Jessie Reyez has another song in the chart this week thanks to Eminem's surprise album Kamikaze. Dean Lewis earns his first Top 5 single as Be Alright (7-5) creeps up the Top 10 in a very busy week. Logic's One Day featuring Ryan Tedder becomes the Maryland rapper's highest peaking single since 1-800-273-8255 featuring Alessia Cara & Khalid debuted at #4 exactly one year ago this week! Elsewhere within the Top 10; Dynoro & Gigi D'Agostin's In My Mind (19-7) leaps up the chart, Eminem grabs his third Top 10 hit with The Ringer entering at #8, Michael Jackson & Mark Ronson's memorial mash-up Diamonds Are Forever gives both artists their highest charting singles on my chart at #9, and BROCKHAMPTON'S 1999 WILDFIRE (5-10) leaves the Top 5. Following the release of their latest music video, Panic! At The Disco's High Hopes (15-11) refuses to fall down the chart, similarly Juice WRLD's Lucid Dreams (10-13) spends a 12th week between #23 and #10 perpetually stuck in the Top 20 it seems. I also noticed last week that Lucid Dreams has become my 4th most played song this year (since April anyway) which is interesting considering its #10 peak :lol: Non-Top 10 new entries this week are all over the place. Two album tracks from Emma Blackery's Villains enter, with Petty (#17) and Icarus (#38) - the latter of which matches the peak of her previous single Take Me Out. Eminem also has two more new entries to the chart aside from The Ringer as Nice Guy featuring Jessie Reyez (#19) and Stepping Stone (#37). Eminem's Kamikaze album was dropped out of nowhere on Friday and shocked pretty much everyone (although for many different reasons :kink:). No artist has yet to disrupt my chart with an album release quite like Justin Timberlake's Man Of The Woods did with 10 tracks in the chart at once however both Eminem and Emma Blackery would have been close if not for how many other releases came out this week. If my chart were a Top 100, the entirety of their albums would be charting right now :P In fact the majority of my theoretical Top 100 would be full of album tracks anyway from the likes of Ariana, Panic!, Passenger, Post Malone, Amy Shark, and Nicki Miaj too.. Speaking of Amy Shark her latest Love Monster single All Loved Up enters at #25, as does Passenger's single Heart To Love at #27. Labrinth, Sia, & Diplo return to the chart with Thunderclouds (#34) which is surprisingly looking to be an official chart hit! What's going on in the album chart you ask? Welll.. a lot. Emma Blackery defies logic and debuts higher than the self-proclaimed 'rap god' Eminem, as her debut album Villains enters at #1. Sporting the Top 10 single Agenda this album is often as electro-poppy as they come often channeling the likes of CHVRCHES with a bit of Taylor Swift thrown in there. The album was produced by Toby Scott who's previous production catalog includes Little Mix, Girls Aloud, Pet Shop Boys, and Gorgon City. Eminem spends 45 minutes slagging off any and everyone who didn't like Revival including you right there, but just misses out on the #1 album on my chart so he's probably gonna release Kamikaze II about me and my Emma Stannery. Passenger's latest album Runaway (#4) and Troye Sivan's Bloom (#6) also show up. Both of these are good albums but seem to have quite a bit of filler which is saying a lot considering Troye's album is only 11 songs long. Hell Or High Water, Heart To Love, Runaway, and Survivors are songs I whole-heartedly recommend from Passenger, which Troye has a good Plum. Oh well, all these new ratios are skewing everything up :P Giving Diamonds Are Invincible a listen now, it's nice but I can't see past it being a medley of different MJ songs :lol: All Loved Up is growing on me now as the other album tracks fade, should debut high for me next week Not heard much hype for Passenger's new album actually, his voice certainly hasn't changed! Heart To Love sounds quite nice and catchy, Somebody's Love is still my favourite of his though :wub: Great chart :D

However it's great to see you charting Stepping Stone and Nice Guy as they were two of the tracks that stood out for me (along with Fall and Kamikaze). The Ringer I didn't really find very memorable. Glad he's getting a record-breaking 9th consecutive #1 album though :D I'm still not that fussed about 'Thunderclouds' but I guess I'll get more into it now that it's doing well and I'll be hearing it more - I'd be very surprised if R1 don't playlist it this week. For a MASSIVE Sia fan, I'm just not feeling the LSD stuff that much in general, a shame really. 'Happier' is growing on me a bit, although I'm really surprised it's doing so well officially, it doesn't really scream hit to me. Good stuff as always :D

Be Alright is reminding me of Shotgun a little bit in how it's charting so far (aside from being Top 40 as an album track obviously). Shotgun was doing really well in sales but streaming took a little while to kick in before it shot up the chart, hopefully Be Alright will be a similar case but the other way around :P Diamonds Are Invincible will probably fall quite a bit next week but it's a great mash up from Mark Ronson :lol: He'll likely have another entry next week with his Diplo & Dua Lipa collab too All Loved Up is growing on me fast :wub: Could even outpeak I Said Hi! I'm really liking Kamikaze right now, I feel like it'll last longer than Revival did - after a few weeks I put Revival down and have barely picked it back up again since. Stepping Stone is fully a highlight for me now despite being the lowest charter here :P Fall is growing on me too, and Nice Guy has some great vocals from Jessie Reyez :wub: I didn't really like Thunderclouds at first but it's definitely grown on me the more I've heard it, I already prefer it to Audio I think. I can't wait for the album or the mixtape which I hope will both come by the end of this year, although with Happier becoming a huge hit I feel like they might wait for that to die out and release a more commercial single than QPM to score a hit to release the album off of in Q1 2019. I think it's destined for Top 5 officially! :o Likewise idk if it'll climb higher here though :kink: My chart is in need of a little clearout up top (something Amy Shark, LSD, Emma Blackery, & Eminem have their eyes on..) Have you heard Emma's album yet? As the only other people on Buzzjack charting her I have to ask :kink: I'm enjoying it but I think she's having trouble identifying herself as an artist really, she seems to bounce back & forth between wanting to be Reputation Taylor Swift and Paramore-like CHVRCHES. She does a great job with both sounds but maybe not both at the same time All I Am is growing on me a lot! I really hope it can be another #1 for her officially but they'll have to time it just right like they did with I'll Be There. This deserves #1 100x as much as IBT did but I feel it'll struggle more to get there Thanks for commenting!
