Posted September 7, 20186 yr rAqMlh0b2HU A Simple Favor is an upcoming American neo-noir comedy thriller film directed by Paul Feig from a screenplay by Jessica Sharzer, based on the 2017 novel of the same name by Darcey Bell. The film stars Anna Kendrick, Blake Lively, Henry Golding and Andrew Rannells, and follows a small-town blogger who tries to solve the disappearance of her mysterious and rich best friend. Released in the UK on September 20th. THIS LOOKS BLOODY BRILLIANT. SO hyped. I haven't read the book but it's apparently excellent so hopefully the film does it justice!
September 20, 20186 yr The best film I've seen this year! So funny - Blake in it plays the best role she's ever been given and is so good in it, the best I've ever seen her and has so many good one liners. Anna kind of plays the same character she always does but she really plays it well. Such an interesting movie, funny and so so gripping at the same time. A mix between Gone Girl and Mean Girls and that's some feat. Would recommend to everyone.
September 27, 20186 yr I found this enjoyable for the most part but I felt like it didn’t know what tone it wanted to be, some parts were serious thriller, at other times it was really trashy. Seeing the full film it made more sense that it’s from the same director as Bridesmaids and Spy as the trailer made it look as if he’d gone in a totally different direction. It lost me a bit towards the end as I started to find it confusing with all the twists, unable to keep up with whether Stephanie was working with Emily or her husband. I’d give it 8/10 and I love Anna Kendrick but I wish Paul Feig would stick to full blown comedies.
September 30, 20186 yr saw this yesterday. it was really good. I agree with the Gone Girl comparisons except this was a lot lighter. I loved both lead characters equally. It's refreshing to see males play secondary roles in a big movie. it was ALL about Anna and Blake.
October 2, 20186 yr Batshit crazy and I loved every second of it. Blake's probs my fave performance of the year to date rn 10/10
October 6, 20186 yr I really enjoyed this. The only issue I had was that it went with the twin twist. It's just so overdone. It's not even the first 2018 film to do that.
November 12, 20186 yr I saw this yesterday because it's only just out in Germany and I agree with Jack, this is probably the role that Blake was born to play. She was completely brilliant. Easily one of the best films I've seen the past couple of years.
