Gold is SO Bowie *.* Was hoping for it to be a bit more Noel Gallagher like IJWPTLM was but it's okay

I like the Bowie effect , quite a broad range of styles on the album

No f***s jumped out at me in the car this morning. I love it. :cheer:

Do you reckon the four letter word in Good People is LOVE? As in she wanted to get serious and he was backing away?

It's very eclectic. Going to listen to it again properly tomorrow. B-)

No F**ks and Indestructible (Project Money Remix) are my favourites so far. I've been really enjoying them. There are lots of good tracks on here really.

I had a proper listen on Spotify while I was painting the hall ceiling. :)

My favourite songs always seem to be those co -written with Guy. I just always enjoy his arrangements.

So I really like The Impossible track one. And Indestructable.

Love the stripped down TTC songs! Quite like Reality Killed the Video Star too after a couple of listens.

That is my favourite for today. I'm really enjoying this one.

I love it when he tells his stories through the lyrics. I always sit there listening, wondering what's going to happen at the end.

This album is shaping up nicely. I need to listen some more tomorrow. See what others push themselves to the fore.

Ooooooh !! you got a reply Laura , good for you :cheer:

This line makes me smile ....

So goodbye dear dignity

You never meant that much to me

I get it back and lose it all over again and again and again and again

I wonder who Bye Bye is about

"Bye Bye"

She's as old as she wants to be

And is cold as ice

And she can walk like a millipede right out of your life

It'll be thanks for the memory

The ghost in her machine

If you've tested her twice than you'll know what I mean

Cause she's so cool

She's moving into your mind alright and out of your life

Leave you love sick and lonely

She's probably wearing your shirts and waving bye bye

Isn't she lovely

She ain't taking no shit

She never did

Nobody's ever beat her, since she left the house for dead

And she's better than you, even better than me

And I guess I'll never gave her but as long as I can breathe

She's so cool

She's moving into your mind alright and out of your life

Leave you love sick and lonely

She's probably wearing your shirt and waving bye bye

Isn't she lovely

I cannot go there I know it

I'd just be wasting her time

I cannot go there I know that

I'd just be wasting her time

She used to be a friend of mine

She's moving into your mind alright and out of your life

Leave you love sick and lonely

She's probably wearing your shirt and waving bye bye

Isn't she lovely

She's moving into your mind alright and out of your life

Leave you love sick and lonely

She's probably wearing your shirt and waving bye bye

Isn't she lovely

And it feels just like the eighties

Don't it feel like the eighties to you

Feels just the eighties

Seems just like the latest move

Don't it feel like the eighties

She's just like the eighties to me.

I was thinking today that the lyrics to Reality Killed The Radio Star were pre- Ayda but then I thought due to the title it must have been around that release dat of 2009. That confused me.

But I've just read on Diario Italiano that it was written 2005. You can definitely date his songs by his lyrics which I actually like.

I had to smile at the writing credits for The National Anthem of Robbie. It says:

"written by Robert Williams, Guy Chambers and Edward Elgar".

He's in good company isn't he?

The lyrics are very strong on this album. In all the tracks.

UNDERKILL

I see Kelvin Andrews had a hand in writing this, I can see why I like it , really lovely song

Written by Scott Ralph, Robbie Williams, Richard Scott & Kelvin Andrews

Album: Under the Radar Vol.3

Produced by Richard Scott

Robbie Williams 2019

One of my favourite tracks on the album

https://www.versuri.online/robbie-williams-underkill.html

With education incomplete

Behind the door my mother weeps

A silent disco in the street

The message ends and then repeats

As I’m staring at the crowd

I recognize the overkill

With an antidote for all the fun

A world of pain without the thrill

Complimentary perma-frown

And tickets back to Averageville

The underhanded ordinary

Have overdone the underkill

With obsolete technology

We’re building bombs internally

Full of non-expectancy

Half day closing usually

Another day that’s every day

Identical in every way

A parasite that needs a home

Well it’s my mind I’ll miss the most

As I’m staring at the crowd

I recognize the overkill

With an antidote for all the fun

A world of pain without the thrill

Complimentary perma-frown

And tickets back to Averageville

The underhanded ordinary

Have overdone the underkill

I like that song too. The lyrics are brilliant.

I think he's saying that he knows where he's come from but he thinks he's over rated and it all end one day.

That's my take on it.

When I listen to these non official albums I always think he's a good motivator with his lyrics. He's always writing about lack of confidence or uncertainty but to keep moving forward and try to overcome adversity. He'd be a good motivational speaker.

I also always get the impression of a man racing through life, trying to make sense of it all, trying to find some answers and then move onto the next thing.

Maybe that sums him up - I don't know.

Hopefully we'll get that video of him explaining his lyrics soon. B-)

I think what we get is an interactive Robbie dancing on the balcony

I think he had a great grasp of the English language ( way better than he realised ) but just could not apply himself or fit in which happens to a lot of youngsters
