Have been playing the album (streaming) again this mor nine and it still isn't doing much for me but Sexercise is my next vote and I kinda wish I voted for it in this round too as it's just such a tacky song.

I feel that taking these lyrics out of context is overlooking what the overall message of the song is... you've cut off just as the song reaches its uplifting message! Fine is essentially like a pep talk from Kylie to someone who is feeling down and hopeless - she feels confident that they will overcome the adversity that they're experiencing. It's a positive song! "Turn your face into the sun" is a nice sentiment of a brighter future.

Agreed. It's actually one song that seems to make sense in regards to where Kylie was in her life if we are to believe she was in an unhappy place and unable to fully invest in the album as a result. Fine is like you say: a pep talk to herself to dust herself off and stay positive. Reminds me of Best Friend on Madonna's MDNA album which was a similarly mishmash album; that song felt like Madonna being honest with herself and where she was in her life.

I'll second that. Fine and Feels So Good are definitely among the highlights of the album!

Went with Les Sex again!

I'm glad that somebody else is on my wavelength when it comes to this album! #jalum :kink: Whenever Sexercise bows out, assuming Les Sex is still in, that will be the next one I'll likely vote for.

I really like the interpretation that it's actually Kylie giving herself a pep talk! That makes a lot of sense actually. I'd also like to add that beyond the lyrics, I find the production itself to have quite an uplifting quality to it too.

That's just the bit that I don't like, that's why I quoted it. It just drones through these repetitive, negative lyrics. The song just feels very whiney to me.

Just my opinion, don't mean to offend.

You haven't offended, don't worry! I totally respect your opinion. I just feel quite differently to you about Fine, i.e. I feel that it's meant to be an uplifting and positive message at its core, in the sense of seeing light at the end of the tunnel. Like, there has to be some darkness to the song to be able to convey that message effectively, which I believe it does.

That was just my take on it though, so I thought I'd share. Counteracting your opinion wasn't meant to suggest that I was offended by your take on it though - sorry if there's crossed wires there. :(

I honestly don't mind people sharing their criticisms of Kiss Me Once tracks. I'm just joking when I write things like "I hate most of you x"! The last thing I'd want is for a music discussion to come across as personal or offensive. Obviously we all share the same passion (music and Kylie!) and we're all bound to feel differently sometimes about certain aspects of her career. I think it's great to have in-depth discussions about her music, discussions that don't necessarily see all of us being on the same page.
