Posted October 31, 200618 yr Incredibly unsurprisingly the MTV Totally Boyband flop Upper Street have split after their disasterous chart placing of their debut single 'The One'. On Sunday it charted at a highly embarrasing number 35 and what makes it even more embarrasing is that got lots of promotion through the music channels and MTV including a Totally Boyband live show which was shown everyday for one hour on MTV which almost everyday played the single. All the members of the group came from highly successful groups in which they sold millions of records with and this flop has pretty much ended any chance whatsoever of any of them recapturing their fame and starting out on solo careers. I actually really like the song and was surprised how it has flopped. In my opinion throughout the whole show Dane and especially the guy from New Kids On The Block (sorry can't remember his name) have been sooooo cocky and over confident so this flop will no doubt have really stunned them. I like the guy from 911 (again sorry can't remember his name) and really like Bradley who seems really down to earth, and has a really sensible father who gives him good advice and behind the scenes I think Bradley and his family are quite religious. On Sundays episode it showed the band placing bets on where they think their single will chart. Dane placed a large bet on it going to number 1 whilst the guy from New Kids On The Block and the guy from 911 also placed decent size bets on it going top 5 however sensible and more realistic Bradley placed a £3 bet on it charting at number 8. Concept Music and their manager Jonathan Shatliff have now parted company with the group and decided not to work on an album with them so the group have split and I expect that Sunday nights final episode which shows the placing of their single, will also show the group split up.
October 31, 200618 yr I suppose it was to be expected, they did say they needed a top 5 for them to be able to do an album. I must remember to watch the last episode.
November 1, 200618 yr That was a massive flop for this band. I knew it wouldn't get top 10, but I thought it could have at least made it into the top 20.
November 1, 200618 yr Not surprising, they were pretty rubbish. I did enjoy watching Totally Boyband though. :P
November 1, 200618 yr big flop, but i cant say im suprised. imo they didnt have enough promo, the series on mtv and the odd video play. they wernt even played on the box or smash hits. and the song they released sounded very dated.
November 2, 200618 yr Author That was a massive flop for this band. I knew it wouldn't get top 10, but I thought it could have at least made it into the top 20. yeah agreed.
November 4, 200618 yr It seems as if everyone turned against them. The footage on MTV was counter-productive in the end.
November 4, 200618 yr :o I'm surprised at that chart placing as the song wasn't so bad!! Love, Kirsty xx
November 5, 200618 yr Incredibly unsurprisingly the MTV Totally Boyband flop Upper Street have split after their disasterous chart placing of their debut single 'The One'. so what the world keeps on turning and the format keeps getting sold: 'Totally Boyband' heads for America Tuesday, October 31 2006, 09:06 UTC - by Error! Hyperlink reference not valid. A US version of MTV's Totally Boyband has been green-lighted by VH1 in America. The American version, titled Man Band, will bring together Bryan Abrams (Color Me Badd), Rich Cronin (LFO), Chris Kirkpatrick (*NSYNC) and Jeff Timmons (98 Degrees). The ex-boybanders will live under the same roof and try to create new songs and a stage show. If they make it that far, they'll be challenged to perform as a group. Man Band will premiere on VH1 in the US early next year.
November 8, 200618 yr  that means Lisa Scott Lee did far greater with her Totally series  Exactly! :D Oh and the final episode they didn't split up, Jon?
November 8, 200618 yr Author Exactly! :D Oh and the final episode they didn't split up, Jon? yeah so I've seen. Despite their huge flop debut single and have now been deluded into making an album which Concept Records believe will do well. Whilst I really like Bradley, there is no chance whatsoever an album will do well if even their debut single which was largely promoted and released off the MTV show Totally Boyband flops at number 35. It will probably completely miss the top 40 so stay tuned for a flop.
