AATW - never wanted to release a dannii album . They made her release the hits and beyond instead . They used her for feature singles that were sub par .

He’s the greatest dancer was never ever going to be a single for CIN . That rumour is false, it was meant to be on a phone advert with a comedienne featuring .

She signed an album deal with Universal/AATW so the intention was there for an album otherwise they would have signed her on a singles deal?

Just listening to Club Disco now as I haven’t for a while - there are some great tracks on it aside from the singles...

I Can’t Sleep At Night (Love the Afterlife version too)

Love Fight

The Greatest Dancer

'I'm Sorry' is the one I've gone back to again and again over the years.

She really lost out by not releasing an album much earlier after neon nights, she had the momentum with her and it was lost.

They refused to put out a studio album .

TBH they were probably right? They certainly had the intentions of a studio album which is why Dannii recorded so much during her time with them but realistically the album would have bombed as it had no big single to launch the album (You womt Forget About Me #7, Perfection #11, So Under Pressure #20, Touch Me Like That #48).

AATW was not the right label for Dannii but they gave us some great tracks and at least they actually bothered to put ‘Club Disco’ out at all.

Its understandable where they were coming from.

At the time, had Dannii worked with the right people following Neon Nights she may have sustained a better music career.

She also didnt take any advantage of her X Factor exposure and popularity.

This!! She could have easily got an XF slot along with lots of other promo off the back of XF to launch a single/album.

It was such a missed opportunity for her once again.

Particularly when you consider that back then, an X Factor performance had a big effect on the chart.

You won’t forget about me / Perfection / so under pressure / touch me like that were singles recorded and released when with AATW.

The material recorded for the follow up to NN was pushed aside and it was far superior. Dannii took all material with her when she left London.

The hits and beyond did ok seeing a beat of was not needed. She had already had the singles release in Australia via mushroom records .

At the time I really thought her greatest hits would have done far better than it did,I was surprised by its performance.

I think it done as good as a Dannii GH was ever going to - I’m actually impressed she managed to go Top 20 with it especially as the lead single to promote the album bombed 20-61-96.

I suppose I looked at it the neon nights singles and album done well so I thought more would have become more interested in it. For me the neon nights era got me interested in her and I bought the greatest hits of the back of it although I hated most of her early stuff so I think I kinda thought more people might have been like me.Do we know how much her greatest hits has sold?
Not sure about its sales, but it isn't certified, so it's definitely less than 60,000!

Basically what happened is London (Dannii's label for Neon Nights) went bankrupt and she was then lumbered with AATW who are a dance label not really known for managing artists throughout 'eras' per se, so they ended up releasing one single a year and killing off anything she'd built up in 2003.

I am surprised by the low sales of the Hits album.

I had assumed sales to date were much higher than they are.

Disappointing her label went bust as otherwise things may have turned out very different.

Get Into You is the first casualty of the eliminator.

New round opening shortly.
