yesterday I even opened this playlist, cannot recall the name, and it was

track 1 - Jessie J - Man with the Bag

2 - Ariana, 3 - etc then all the classics

but I thought it was pretty bizarre

Really really want this to be a proper hit anyhow, it's Kygo's best in absolutely ages for me anyway, no doubt helped by its Avicii similarities but in any case it's not another of his Kygo autopilot singles (looking at Remind Me To Forget, Stargazing, Born To Be Yours etc.) so it deserves to be the song that gets him back in the top 40.

The drop on iTunes has been quite weird too, was close to top five now it’s just struggling, I’m in actual disbelief at its performance and I’m Worried for the album!

I’d say the flop of Baby is down to the features for sure

 

The casual public will have no idea who Marina is, then they probably just see Luis Fonsi as a cheesy one hit wonder?

I think it's a combo of Marina not being a big name and the song being very average especially by their usual standard. Surely there's a better song on the album they could have lead with? I worry the album will do poorly unless there's a big hit hiding and ready to be pushed quickly.

Julia Michaels isn't a big name to the general public and that did fine (in the end - I remember being shocked that it wasn't doing quite as well as usual for CB to start with). Luis Fonsi had a much bigger hit than what Issues was for Julia.

 

I'm really surprised at CB performance so far, not only coz I think it's their best since Rockabye, but also coz I really wanted Marina to get her first top 10 smash. :( She deserves it SO f***ING MUCH :cry: I just don't get why she can't connect to the GP </3

 

(Although for some reason I'm expecting Baby to blow up soon - but this is probs just me holding out hope that it can be a top 10 hit lmao)
