Baby is not high enough on any Spotify playlist, it's like 30-ish on HH, while I Miss You was on top of all of them despite being an inferior song

must be the industry secretly hates Marina :/

If this Marina chart curse could be lifted soon, that'd be grand. Ffs. I blame Dullie Goulding.
I'd say probably the xmas playlists were not advertised yesterday

would be interesting to see a non-playlist chart for xmas songs, what xmas songs people really search for instead of being fed

I'd say it wouldn't be much different

I’m waiting one more week to see if Baby gets Radio 1 A List and playlist support for album release week.

Otherwise I really think it’s someone at Spotify or even at the label with anti-Marina bias.

Haha calm down it's getting decent radio support, maybe it's just not hitting the public. It's not even been huge on downloads.

It's definitely not hitting the public in a big way! But feels like the decision not to promote on playlists like I Miss You has only added to that.

Errr, it's doing really very well on downloads. I agree with them, the disparity here is because Spotify are not giving it adequate support for it to even make decent headway on streaming. That's just how it is.

Been big enough on downloads though, number 8 on iTunes atm

For CB no8 on iTunes is t really great imo.

I genuinely don't understand why baby is so low on Hot Hits, songs doing worse on streaming are higher?
guess 1) the CB check has not arrived yet or 2) Marina is really the anti-Midas of pop (poor thing) :/

Not really sure how many times the process of Hot Hits UK needs to be explained to you

It was #6 earlier, those numbers are very close at the moment.

I feel like saying it's "not hitting the public" is a bit of a simplistic way of looking at it when it has no hope of bridging that gap officially at the moment unless it gets that vital Spotify support. It's like shooting a horse in the leg before a race.

It should peak top 10 but I think it's not their best work and the public have grown a little tired of the formula they have.

How can you say the public grown tired of their formula when their last single hit number 1?

Question - Solo is currently Top 100 in about 25 countries on Spotify. How well was it doing internationally after a few weeks?

Just wondering if Baby's relative lack of traction on Spotify worldwide is a sign of the song not connecting, or if it's totally normal at this stage.

You'd *think* this has international hit potential written all over it!

Baby is underperforming because

1) It’s Spotify placing

2) The public don’t know who Marina is

3) The public are tired of Luis/Latin vibes in general

Does Marina really matter? Clean Bandit are the main artists for this.
