and reason #4... the song simply isn't as good as their other songs (or at least not as commercially viable as their other songs). if the song was going to connect well with the public it'd be a lot higher than it currently is regardless of its Hot Hits position.

omg this

I think 'Baby' is more commercial than 'I Miss You' though.

I have to disagree, 'I Miss You' was perfectly timed for Q4 (with it being their 'winter ballad' moment), I know a few don't really rate it and it isn't one of their strongest ever singles but it's a well written song.

'Baby' was released well after the Latin pop train left the station, and just isn't that strong for a Clean Bandit single anyway, doesn't have the emotional impact of 'I Miss You' or 'Symphony' nor is it fun and dancey like 'Solo'.

Baby is the sort of the song that would do very well if performed on Strictly. Having said that, I wouldn’t say the Strictly audience are the sort that would normally buy/listen to clean bandit. That in itself is an issue with the song.

Still would like to see it at the very least scrape top 10 for Marina.

Baby is not underperforming because of any kind of industry agenda against Marina, that justs reeks of fandom conspiracy theory. And the fact she's not hugely famous with the general public doesn't matter either. Ina Wroldsten is less famous with the wider public than Marina, yet Breathe with Jax Jones was still a big hit. As long as the main artist is well known, it doesn't matter too much about the featured artist.

The track is underpeforming at the moment because of its lack of visibilty on Spotify and to a lesser extent the fact that everyone's kind of over the Latin vibe.

Having said that, I still wouldn't right it off just yet. If it goes A List on Radio 1, that'll make a significant difference. It just needs to increase its streaming.

How can you say the public grown tired of their formula when their last single hit number 1?

Because a lot of their recent releases imo have sounded quite similar to each other and maybe with this single the public aren't connecting for the first time.

Baby is underperforming because

1) It’s Spotify placing

2) The public don’t know who Marina is

3) The public are tired of Luis/Latin vibes in general

4) the song is ah!te and nowhere near as good as their previous output

"Baby" is by far the poorest of their releases since "Tears". It's probably their most basic structurally and compositionally, and I can't say Marina's vocals are anywhere near as enjoyable as Julia and Demi's were.
Problem is Baby lacks what makes Clean Bandit exciting and that is their interesting take on production. It is literally ‘oh let’s throw this Latin produced track out there because everyone else has done it’. It’s leagues away from their debut material and their output this era has been variable. I get that artists, and especially dance acts, want to switch up their sound but this is not working for them.
Other than adding a couple of songs quite low down, Hot Hits hasn't had a proper update for a week!

Haters gonna hate but
