As I'm such a Spice Girls fact geek, I thought you'd all like to know that the Spice Girls have performed at Wembley Stadium more than any other British female act of all time with 5 shows. They remain the ONLY girl group to have sold out the venue and overall they are only 2nd to Madonna.

Overall list of female artists who've sold out a headline concert at Wembley Stadium

Madonna - 9

Spice Girls - 5

Tina Turner - 4

Celine Dion - 2

Beyonce - 2

Adele - 2

Taylor Swift - 2

Pink - 2 (Late June 2019)

 Incredible! Their power *.*

A new Mel B interview on Good Morning Britain, she's very up for doing more, so let's hope the other three are open to it too.

Nice! I love that they have sold out 5 nights at Wembley, that is so incredible, specially with a wing span of 21 years

I think the main stumbling block would be Geri this time, as she seems the least comfortable performing.

Until recently they were the only British female musicians to sell out Wembley at all... pretty incredible.

Wish Madonna hadn't sold out so many times lol, would be awesome if they were number 1!

Ps technically Madonna, Melanie C, Emma and Mel B are the only women to sell out Wembley Stadium 5 times (Not Victoria or Geri... although at twice and three times they still rank well!)

THE BEST SPICES :cheer:

Also, a bit sad that they never did stadiums as a 5-some  But clearly they have the power even as a 4-some to do it and do it well so I guess the grass is green somehow

Definitely a pity, but as you say, it's definitely a testament to the power of the Spice Girls name that they were able to sell Wembley Stadium with two different 4 piece line ups! I would perhaps argue that the most recent 3 dates were more remarkable, given that this 4 piece was a new version of the line up and they had no idea how well or not it would be received. Whereas the 1998 Wembley dates were put on sale while they were still a 5 piece at their peak!

Definitely more remarkable. I thought the 4 piece put the date on sale? The promos out there - including that funny space tv ad - are only for the 4some?

The dates themselves were announced long before the adverts. Weren’t they done for the live screening aswell? I remember getting tickets for the Sheffield stadium dates and there were 5 of them in the band at the time.

Yes they held a press conference in Manchester on April 8th, 1998 to announce the stadium dates in both Sheffield and London. The advert they filmed months later was for the Sky Box Office pay per view subscription to watch the Wembley Stadium concert 😊
aaahhh fair! Thanks for the info xx

I agree it’s a shame they didn’t get to do Wembley as a 5piece, but it’s awesome that they have all done it!

It's funny to think after 21 years of us being used to Geri never having performed at Wembley Stadium, that she's now played there more times than Victoria did :o (3 vs 2!)

Edited by Aussie
