November 18, 20186 yr I’m waiting for either an official announcement, a radio push or an X Factor finale performance before I would rule this an official single. They did call it the second single during WLM promo but right now it just seems like “Youtube paid us to make - music video to promote their streaming program” and they chose Strip because of the message.
November 18, 20186 yr It’s a strong song and video too. It stands out too amongst their discography and I think it’d actually do well if promoted it debuted well on Spotify yesterday and I think it’s a song that may well grow on people it was instant with myself but I always seem to prefer different songs to most people when someone releases an album. The only negative I would say is that it doesn’t have a big vocal moment as it’s rapped / spoken. That’s something I’d say is similar with Wasabi as well. I may just be being picky by saying that but LMs vocals are a huge strength they have they’re the best vocal group and this track doesn’t necessarily showcase that but it is a cleverly produced tracks as is Wasabi what I mentioned before due to their being similar in being quite unique sounding, they’re in the top half of the album and I applaud them for doing something different and not going with an obvious choice as a single. I much prefer it to Woman Like Me however which I’d say is their weakest single since their debut album! So in short I’m a fan and I hope Strip smashes! Even more so now to Prove Simon wrong as well. This fits the theme of the album much better in my opinion so I can see why they wanted it to be lead single. Edited November 18, 20186 yr by Jordan Lee
November 18, 20186 yr i'm not sure people would like this as much if it wasn't little mix. for me, it's kinda amongst the worst on the album. definitely their worst single (if it happens) which is a damn shame because they were killing it. i applaud the message but they couldn't have got that message through with something a little more.. melodically pleasing?

I played this to some family members and they said the same thing as what you did and it actually put them off wanting to hear the album in full I was like noooo this isn’t representative at all  It’s a good song but it’s definitely a song only an established act could get a hit with. Like if a debut artist released this probably it wouldn’t even go top 100 it’s something only a big act who’s had a career could get away with and they’re the perfect act for it. If they released this in 2013-14 it would probably bomb but at this stage It could well go the other way. It’s a perfect statement too releasing the track they wanted too. When was the last time they had a marmite like hit on this level? Edited November 18, 20186 yr by Jordan Lee

November 18, 20186 yr Author Tbf, had it been any other artist I'd have probs heard it once and not bothered with it much again, however coz it's LM and I'm listening to the album in it's entirety quite a lot atm, I obviously have to stick with it, for the time being at least  I'm actually quite happy I have though coz it's been growing on me with each listen. However, I can definitely see why it's as marmite as it seems to be.
November 18, 20186 yr Definitely a grower. I think it takes a little too long to get to the chorus. You hear a lot of weird at once at the start. Once it kicks in it kinda makes sense.
November 19, 20186 yr Strip is AMAZING on first and second listen in comparison to WLM! Strip video however < WLM video.
November 20, 20186 yr This is holding up on streaming without proper playlisitng. I hope they push it!

Yeah this is definitely what threw me at first, I was a bit "err what is this just get on with the bop, I just love it more and more each listen though! I can see why people don't though, and like Jonjo I don't know if I'd have given it the same chances if it wasn't an act I love as much as Little Mix.
November 20, 20186 yr http://www.digitalspy.com/tv/graham-norton...ix-bill-bailey/ "Joining Momoa is comedian Bill Bailey, there to chat about his latest show Larks in Transit, and Little Mix, who will perform their new single 'Think About Us'." Sooo, 'Strip' confirmed promo single then? I'm in two minds about this; I massively prefer 'Think About Us' but it's clear to see how much the girls adored ''Strip', and it would've been nice to see them opt for (and potentially smash with) something more experimental. Hmm.
November 20, 20186 yr I guess with Woman Like Me being so divisive, album sales being considerably lower than Glory Days, and this being so out there, management deeemd it too much of a risk and saw Think About Us as a safer option, I guess only time will tell if that was a smart move
November 20, 20186 yr The album sales have nothing to do with Woman Like Me, which has been a massive hit - it’s because album sales are a lot lower than 2 years ago for everyone.

I don’t disagree with you at all, but I do think it’s fair to say Woman Like Me was a change of sound for the girls, and if the lead was an undeniable pop banger like shout out or BM then the album sales would probably be that bit higher
November 20, 20186 yr I was ok with Strip being the 2nd single but when the video ended up being that Dove commercial... it ruined every chance. Plus it's a great message but as much as I've grown to be ok with the song, it's really not that great like Move was. And people would forever talk shit about them for singing "take off all my make-up" but still having it whenever they're out and about.
November 21, 20186 yr This is holding strong at #21 in the mids. I predict about #25 for it on Friday which is kind of excellent.
